What we’re about
For many years this group has met locally in Lawrence, KS. It will remain our hub. We are, however, moving our meetings virtually to Zoom, so anyone, anywhere, can join us.
I am all about relationships. The most important relationship you have is with yourself. This is where Personal Development comes into the picture. What are you telling yourself? What do you believe about yourself? Where do you desire to grow and change?
As you become more the person you desire to be, the richer your other relationships will be.
As we read personal development books together, we will challenge each other. You will find various ones within the group that you desire to connect with later, whether it be virtually or in person. This is how good friendships grow.
Join us and let’s grow together.
"The only person I know is the person I want to be." -- Stephen R Covey, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
"What we know matters, but who we are matters more." -- Brene Brown, Daring Greatly
"The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself." -- Bob Burg, The Go-Giver

See all- No Bad Parts Session 1Link visible for attendees
Our book for this Fall will be No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz. Here is the link to the paperback on Amazon: https://a.co/d/b3pT8wV.
Check out the full description on Amazon or wherever you purchase your books. Here is my experience, along with a brief description. My first exposure to this book was a few months ago. I had had some exposure to the Internal Family System (IFS) through a couple of authors, but this was the first by Richard Schwartz, the founder of IFS. We have parts of us that we are ashamed of, so we have exiled them. Other parts of us are managers, protecting us or putting out fires. All these parts need our true self to step up, be the adult, and befriend each of these parts. I have already gained a lot from this book, and I know I have more to learn.
I have both the Kindle and the Audible versions. There are activities in each chapter. In the Audible version, Dr. Richard Schwartz leads the activity sessions.
We meet on the first and third Tuesday @ noon Central time. Below is our tentative schedule.
Oct 7—Introduction
Oct 21--Chapter 1
Nov 3--Chapter 2 (Change to Monday due to a scheduling conflict)
Nov 18--Chapter 3
Dec 2--Chapter 4
Dec 18--Chapter 5
We will discuss Parts 2 and 3 in 2026!
