About us

The Angels of Freedom community group launched in December 2017 with the aims of providing compassionate support & increasing awareness of risks and vulnerabilities within the Leeds LGBTQ+ communities.
We provide positive opportunities to work within the community, and provide a constructive forum for engagement with organisations such as West Yorkshire Police, British Transport Police and Leeds City Council in addition to partnership working with agencies such as Samaritans Leeds, Forward Leeds and others providing support.
In this group we'll share opportunities to engage with activities led by our project along with those of our partners.

Leeds Pride Weekend, Village Fete 2026

Leeds Pride Weekend, Village Fete 2026

Age UK (Leeds) Harrison Room, Bradbury Building, Mark Lane, LS2 8JA, Leeds, GB

Sunday 19 July | Village Fete

Sunday offers a quieter, gentler Village Fete vibe, designed to complement the hustle and bustle of Leeds Pride itself.

It’s a chance to slow down, take a breather, and enjoy the same welcoming space in a calmer setting — perfect if you’re feeling Pride‑ed out, prefer a relaxed atmosphere, or just want meaningful connection without the crowds.

Expect the same activities and support as Saturday, but with more room to pause, reflect, and enjoy Pride at your own pace.

What’s happening across both days?
- Friendly chats and community connection in Dortmund Square
- Opportunities to meet local services inside the Age UK Leeds buildings
- Creative crafting and badge‑making
- Food and drinks nearby, including our Pay As You Feel café
Come for a few minutes or stay a while — there’s no pressure and everyone is welcome.

About Our Space
Our events are all about creating fun, inclusive, and supportive environments where everyone can feel comfortable and valued.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, reconnect with the community, or simply take a calm moment during Pride weekend, our space offers a sense of belonging that supports mental and emotional wellbeing.

You’ll have opportunities to connect with allies, learn more about LGBTQ+ history and rights, and feel empowered to be yourself.

Whether you’re LGBTQ+ or a supportive ally, your presence matters.
Come as you are and be part of a kinder, more connected Pride weekend.
