About us
Lit of the Century is a book club dedicated to exploring the top 100 books of the 21st century, as chosen by New York Times readers. Vox Populi baby!
So let's skim off some of the very best of contemporary literature and dive into diverse genres, perspectives, and stories that define the new millennium.
Open to all the kind, respectful, and literature loving people of DFW (though we will meet on the north side of Dallas).
We read our way through the top 10 last year. This year we are mixing it up a bit by focusing on some of the stories members were more excited about while ensuring we've got unique themes represented. Here's the full list with a quick one-word theme.
- Station Eleven (Reinvention)
- Project Hail Mary (Survival)
- Americanah (Immigration)
- A Little Life (Trauma)
- Normal People (Relationships)
- Devil in the White City (Murder)
- There There (Identity)
- The Overstory (Environment)
- The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay (Escapism)
- Small Things Like These (Conscience)
Let's get lit!
