About us

Welcome to Outdoor Photography Adventures
OPA specialises in running workshops and events to help you master the controls of your camera, so that you can create professional quality photographs in the field of outdoor photography.

We run workshops for absolute beginners, intermediate and advanced users. All of the workshops are relaxed and lots of fun. We try to remove as much of the complicated jargon as possible as well as giving you hands-on experience in a professional environment.

St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Euston Road, London, England NW1 2AR, GB

Join one of the world’s leading photographer/educators for a workshop that will transform how you see.

“A photograph is not taken. It is given.” Tom Ang

Tom Ang is a prominent photographer, author, and broadcaster known for presenting the BBC series A Digital Picture of Britain and writing widely read photography books. Stop in any bookshop in the world you'll find at least one of Tom Ang's approximately 50 photography books on the shelf.

Gentle, narrative, and deeply educational, Tom’s teaching helps you slow down, observe with purpose, and create photographs that honour their subjects. This workshop is your chance to elevate your practice and learn to see the world - and your photography - differently.

In this workshop Tom Ang will guide you through three powerful exercises designed to sharpen perception, deepen intention, and bring meaning to every frame you create.

Alphanumbers
Discover hidden letters and numbers formed by shapes and shadows in the environment. This exercise trains you to see structure, pattern, and significance where others see only the ordinary.

Seeing Mono
Learn to look past colour and recognise the graphic strength of a scene. By shooting with black‑and‑white in mind, you’ll develop clearer composition, stronger narrative, and a more intentional visual voice.

Doubling Reflections
Explore reflections as expanded spaces and layered stories. Tom shows you how to use surfaces and virtual space to enrich your images with depth, complexity, and emotional resonance.

Afterwards we'll have a Q&A session, discuss photography and you can pick his brain on any photo related topic. This is an amazing opportunity don't miss your chance to participate and elevate your photography. Come, have fun, and learn something new, something with meaning.
