Join us for our June meeting as we read Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner.
In this memoir, Zauner — also known as the musician Japanese Breakfast — writes about losing her Korean mother to cancer and the grief, love, and identity that unraveled in the wake of that loss. Anchored by food, memory, and a daughter's fierce longing to hold on to a culture that was only ever half hers, it's a book that is both heartbreaking and deeply alive. It was a New York Times bestseller and is widely considered one of the most moving memoirs of the last decade.
All are welcome, whether you're a first-timer or joining us again from May. Come ready to share your thoughts — we'd love to hear them.
The meeting will be at the Panera Bread location at 1191 E Ogden Ave, Naperville, IL 60563 (near the H Mart and Costco). Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly. Hope to see you there!
