About us
Welcome to the Unlimited Adventures Meetup group! We are situated mainly in Northeast Ohio and the surrounding counties. This is a group for anyone who likes playing in the outdoors, socializing, and generally having a fun time throughout the year with different activities as the seasons change. Some of the fun things we like to do are:
- Kayaking the multiple surrounding lakes, reservoirs, and rivers that are inclusive of all kayakers and boat lengths.
- Hiking in our beloved Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) and Summit/Cuyahoga Metro Parks year-round.
- Biking on the beautifully well-maintained bike trails in the surrounding areas.
- Camping in many of the 75 State Parks in Ohio where often we combine multiple activities into one trip during a weekend stay.
- Winter activities such as skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and tobogganing during the off-season as weather permits.
- Visiting wineries, craft breweries, and local hometown eatery establishments often conclude activities but are never a requirement to joins us and have a good time.
If staying active and socializing is something you like to do, then join us on one of our Unlimited Adventure!
Liz

Dillon State Park, 5265 Dillon Hills Drive, Nashport, OH, USJoin us at Dillon State Park (about 2.25 hours drive) for a weekend of kayaking, biking and camping! Please only sign up IF you have booked a site. We have a small group going with sites 128, 130, 132, 134. The sites across from us are all open so far. We will be kayaking the beautiful Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve on Saturday and then biking the short 8 mile round trip trail through the nature preserve afterwards. PFD's are a must for this river trip. We will organize our own shuttles and Liz will give a safety talk. Sunday will be kayaking Dillon Lake. It's a 1,560 acre unlimited horsepower lake, but we will explore either the east side or north west side via one of the nearby boat launches.
Dillon State Park also has a nature center and Storybook Trail, 8.9 miles of hiking trails and 18 miles of mountain biking trails (ranked in the state’s top 3 trails), fishing, swimming at the beach, and an archery range so there is no lack of activities. We'll see what else we can fit in!

Deer Creek Kayak & Camping Weekend
Deer Creek State park, 20635 State Park Road 20, Mt. Sterling, OH, USJoin us at Deer Creek State Park just southwest of Columbus (about 2.5 hrs drive) for a fun kayak and camping weekend! Please only sign up IF you have booked a site.
Deer Creek is a versatile vacation spot that combines modern amenities with a rustic setting in scenic farmland. It features a lodge resort with pool, marina, campground, and golf course, along with outdoor activities like boating, fishing, hiking, and camping. The park also has historical significance with the Harding Cabin.
A few of us already have sites 39, 41, and 43 so you can look for sites near there. We anticipate this to be a kayaking weekend, but there is usually time for other activities as well. We usually bring bikes as well to ride around the campground or state park.
Deer Creek is an unlimited horsepower 1277 acre reservoir, but there are two main areas of no wake where we will be exploring. Here is a loose agenda as idea of activities:
- Friday - Arrive anytime after 3PM campground check-in, meet at Site 39 after dinner for campfire time and planning.
- Saturday - Kayaking then TBD - swim at lodge pool, check out the lodge, hike, biking (the Tri-County Triangle Trail is about 20 minutes from camp and goes over 30 miles). Possibly a potluck dinner on Saturday night.
- Sunday - Breakfast, take down camp and kayak. Sometimes we like to picnic lunch after kayaking or find a brewery.
