About us

This is a Well-Read Circle where great stories meet even better conversation.
The Vision
This isn’t just a group that checks a title off a list; it is a community for women who view reading as an active pursuit. For those who have reached a chapter in life where they value depth over volume, The Well-Read Circle focuses on the "unputdownables"—those rare books that leave you pacing the room, desperate to discuss the ending with someone who gets it.
The Reading List
We bypass the predictable beach reads in favor of literary substance. Our selections are curated from the most prestigious corners of the literary world:
• The Booker Prize Shortlists: For challenging, boundary-pushing narratives that redefine modern fiction.
• NPR’s "Books We Love": For those hidden gems and brilliant debuts discovered by the most trusted ears in media.
• Modern Classics: The "cultural touchstones" that demand a second look through the lens of experience.
The Atmosphere
Imagine an afternoon/evening where the wine is crisp, the coffee is hot, and the intellectual energy is palpable. We gather to dissect prose, debate character motivations, and explore the complex themes of identity, history, and humanity.
This club is for you if:
• You often find yourself highlighting passages or folding down pages.
• You aren't afraid of a "difficult" book if the payoff is a profound insight.
• You believe that a great book is a mirror, and discussing it with other insightful women is how we see the full reflection.
