Tickets cost £16.00 and can be purchased online or on the day. Guided tours of the apartments and clock tower cost £4.50 and can only be bought on the day.
Tours of the apartments last 50 minutes and 35 minutes for the clock tower. I’m going to suggest we go on the 11am tour of the apartments and the 12:30pm tour of the clock tower. Then we can look round the rest of the castle afterwards. There is a cafe onsite, as well as several others in Bute Park, which is next to Cardiff Castle.
As an optional activity, I thought we could get the 25 minute river taxi from the park and go to Cardiff Bay, where there are lots of nice places to drink. Tickets cost £7.50 one way or £15.00 for a return trip. You can also get the train from Cardiff Bay to Cardiff Central for £3.20 if people didn’t want to pay for a return journey.
