Step into the woods after dark for Creatures of the Dam - a guided scavenger hunt where the trail holds the clues.

Looking for a unique way to experience Devil’s Night (night before Halloween) and Halloween night? Join us for this nocturnal adventure where the canopy closes in, headlamps cut through the mist and noises echo in the dark!

We will cover various terrain over the course of 4 miles, through the open and forest areas. Using your own night vision and headlamp, try to locate the scavenger hunt items as we move through the darkness. All items on the scavenger hunt card were found specifically on this trail (some images provided for reference) and the card curated specifically for this event!

What's included in your ticket:

• Souvenir Night-to-Day Scavenger Hunt Card: Custom curated trail scavenger card for you to keep. Didn't find all the items in the darkness? Don't worry, you can return in the daylight with friends and family to complete the scavenger hunt in the daylight hours.
• 2 card Zombie Apocalypse Oracle Card Draw (optional): Face your fate before stepping onto the trail with this custom curated deck of wisdom. This is an optional quick drawing just for fun. What message will the cards give you?! Only one way to find out! Note: card drawings will be performed between 7:00 p.m. and 7:35 p.m. you must arrive early for the draw.
• Trick-or-Treat Grab Bag: Themed goodies because adults can be kids at heart too!
• Prize Drawing for Costumes: Everyone who wears a costume will be entered into a drawing for a chance to claim a prize. One winner drawn over the 2 night event. Winner will be emailed on 11/1 and posted on social media.
• Fully Guided Night Hike: We start together and stay together the whole time. You won't be sent into the darkness alone. Everything on the hunt can be found while on the trail.
• No Jump Scares or Actors: You may get a scare from the environment or night life but no one has been placed on the trail to jump out to scare you.

Event Essentials:
- Capacity: Limited to keep the group intimate.
- Age: Adult only, 18+, ID required
- Trail Pace & Terrain: An easy paced, approximately four mile hike over mixed terrain, with some elevation and rocks.
- Pets: For safety, group pacing and mood of the wood, no pets allowed
- Lighting: Red headlamp required; glow sticks optional
- Location: KC Metro Area; The exact meeting location and parking instructions will be emailed the morning of the event to website registered and paid guests only.
- Costumes: Optional but encouraged! Required for prize drawing entry.
- Waiver: Required to participate. It will be emailed the morning of the event and must be completed and returned in order to participate.
- Rain or shine event: Dress appropriately and in layers esp if in costume.

Note: A meetup RSVP does NOT reserve your spot. Registration and payment must be completed on the website (see link). Your spot is secured once payment is complete. Space is limited and tickets sold based on payment order.

Because outdoor conditions shift quickly, we are launching Spontaneous Excursions VIP Notification option for short-notice, pop-up outdoor gatherings.
