Our organizers and hosts are not guides or experts. We are everyday people who like to be active and enjoy ourselves with like-minded folks, so please be kind.
Please know your physical abilities and what you can and cannot hike. If you think a hike may be too challenging/strenuous for you, please find a less challenging hike.
NorCal Trail Trekkers is a non-professional social group. Only you can assess your abilities to attend a hike and are solely responsible for your safety and well-being. Please familiarize yourself with Meetup's Terms of Service. It is your responsibility to know your ability when signing up for a meetup. Please contact the hike organizer with any questions you may have.

Paddle Salmon Falls (SF American River)
Skunk Hollow Trailhead, 7289-7299 Salmon Falls Road, Pilot Hill, CA, USLet's paddle (kayak, SUP, canoe, or ?) Folsom Lake/ North Fork American River.
This is a provide your own boat event. Bring water, sun protection, and be prepared for evening wind and warm or hot weather. Weather should be sunny with a high near 79 during the day (likely cooler in the evening) weather .gov
Arrive 5:45 at Skunk Hollow trailhead/boatramp and help others launch and gather just offshore of the boat ramp.
- Leave about 6:00 (will go upstream as far as current and time allow).
- Expect to start landing about 7:15 with the expectation of leaving about 7:30 or so.
Folsom Lake is less than 2 feet low (should be able to get pretty far upstream). Lake Level
Cost of parking is $10 (free with poppy pass). Be warned that this area frequently gets ticketed. Bring cash to feed the iron ranger.
