What we’re about
This is a group for nice people who like to play board games. Most of the events will be hosted at my Buffalo home on Saturdays. New to boardgaming? We'll teach you some games - I really enjoy teaching games to people. Gaming veteran? Jump right in. We'll also do RPG stuff now and then. I like to run Call of Cthulhu games.
Most events are potluck snacks and drinks, and occasionally events are themed. We had a great Halloween meetup with costumes and spooky games in 2021.

I like thematic and deception games the most and deep Euros and "pick who was funniest" party games the least. I also do some RPG stuff, mostly focused on Call of Cthulhu. Some of my favorite games include social deduction/deception games and real time speedy games. Some of my favorite games lately include Space Alert, Werewolf (Ultimate and One Night), Cthulhu Wars, Eclipse, Mansions of Madness, Hanabi, Galaxy Trucker, the Republic of Rome, Gizmos, 2 Rooms and a Boom, and Secret Hitler.
There's a 7-year-old in the household - she doesn't spend much time around the boardgaming but will be around here and there.

This is a gun-free, pet-free, drug-free, smoke-free meetup. (That means don't bring those things, not that they are free. They are very expensive.)
People who don't believe in vaccines are probably not going to fit in well with the crowd here.
There are lots of food allergens like peanuts, soy, eggs, and gluten present in the meetup house - allergy havers beware.

*Please rsvp if you're planning to make it, and if you realize you can't make it, please update your rsvp as soon as you can as space is limited.

*The house is a long walk from Amherst St Station (1.5 miles, 30 minute walk) and a short walk from Bus lines that go along Delaware Ave.
*There is plenty of free street parking on Amherst St, Meadow Rd, and other nearby side streets. Please don't park in the driveway - it's narrow so you'd be blocking in Liz, and she'll ask you to move.
*This is a gun-free, pet-free, drug-free, smoke-free meetup. (That means don't bring those things, not that they are free. They are very expensive.)
*Feel free to show up after the start time. If you know ahead of time you're going to, it's great if you can post around when you're planning to make it so we don't all start a game of Twilight Imperium 15 minutes before you arrive.
*It would be great if you had your flu and covid shots if possible and that you don't attend if you're actively sick. Feel free to wear a mask if that might be helpful! I'll have some available next to the hand sanitizer dispenser by the bathroom.
*This Meetup is generally meant to stick to the main floor of the house, which has a living room, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom, so please don't go up or down stairs. If we get big enough, maybe we'll figure out a way to expand, but it hasn't been an issue so far.
