About us

We’re a volunteer-run club built on one simple idea: hiking is better with people who know the mountains and know your name. Your backyard is extraordinary — we’ll show you.

WHAT WE DO

Hiking · Road cycling · Snowshoeing · Backpacking · Backcountry skiing · Trail stewardship

WHERE WE GO

Many trips explore Cypress, Grouse, and Seymour. In summer, we head farther afield to Garibaldi, Squamish, Howe Sound Crest, and multi-day adventures.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • All events are clearly graded so you can pick the right fit
  • Small groups, steady pace, and Leave No Trace habits
  • Our experienced volunteer leaders know the mountains well — and know how to bring everyone home safely
  • Year-round events across all activity types

I showed up not knowing anyone. Six months later, I had trail partners for life.
— Sarah M., member since 2022

GETTING STARTED IS EASY

  • All attendees start on a waiting list
  • Waiver: everyone signs in person — North Shore Hikers Waiver
  • Photos & privacy: don’t tag people in photos without permission
  • What to bring: The 10 Essentials (North Shore Rescue) and more
  • Read our Values and Code of Conduct
  • For liability reasons, dogs are not allowed on our hikes
