The Ruthless Lady's Guide to Wizardry (Novels & Nibbles - May 2026 - 1 of 2)
Join us on Thursday, May 14th at 7:15 PM at Reunion: Kitchen and Bar in Marietta, GA as we kick off this month's meetings and discuss the first ~50% of The Ruthless Lady's Guide to Wizardry by C.M. Waggoner, covering Chapters 1 through 10 (about 176 pages).
This one should lean more on the fun side of fantasy. It follows a down-on-her-luck fire witch named Dellaria "Delly" Wells who takes a job as a bodyguard for a group of wealthy, very proper ladies. From there, it starts to open up into something part mystery, part magic, part social maneuvering, with a main character who sounds a little chaotic but knows exactly how to survive when things get weird. Amidst all the chaos, though, Delly may find more than she was gunning for as she starts to fall for another of the bodyguards.
This first section should give us enough to get a feel for where things are heading and give us plenty to talk about as we learn about the world, the society, and the characters we meet.
