The NYC Veterans for America Free Sailing School started its free monthly free three day sailing seminars on August of 2022 in NYC and Florida.. If you are interested in the reality of free sailing in New York City then you must come to our next event september 26. As always all are welcome! We don’t exclude anyone. We are inclusive to a fault because America is devided right now and the only people that benefit from that are the billionaires so us common folk need to learn to talk to each other and coexist. Our Democracy depends on it!

We held 30 consecutive monthly 3 day sailing seminars in NYC without missing a beat—until this winter of 2024, when we expanded to Sebastian, Florida. Now, we’re thrilled to offer monthly free sailing seminars in Florida o”as well

My fiancé Pippa and I have already hosted 18 monthly free seminars in Florida starting March 2025, and we plan to keep going as long as it’s fun and people are excited to learn!

If you’re still interested in sailing for free at our old spot in Flushing Bay, we recommend reaching out to the Flushing Bay Sailing Association. They’re a great community dedicated to saving the beach, and I love them dearly—especially since I introduced them to one another! They likely have a Meetup page and an Instagram account. If you have trouble finding them, I’m happy to connect you directly or share their WhatsApp group link.

Please support them and help us build a strong sailing community together. My mission is to create as many new sailors as possible—and that includes Flushing Bay Sailing Association sailors too! They’re located right next to LaGuardia Airport. Please note that I’m no longer affiliated with any sailing activities in Flushing Bay.

What We Do:

The Free Sailing School is a completely free sailing skillshare. We help anyone become a confident, solo adventure sailor—no cost, no catch.

Each month, we host a free 3-day intensive sailing seminar, typically starting on the last Friday of the month and continuing through Saturday and Sunday. That’s three full days of hands-on training, community, and adventure.

Our goal is to get as many people from all walks of life—especially Floridians and New Yorkers—out on the water and growing as sailors. We aim to be a trusted resource and a source of empowerment in our communities.
