One Cycling - Ottawa Cycling Group

Come move, stretch, and meet some new people! This is a relaxed 1-hour flow session designed for beginners, and anyone more experienced is welcome too. Easier options are offered throughout, so you can go at your own pace.

What to bring: Your own yoga mat, water, and comfortable clothes you can move in.

Where: Preschool room at McNabb Recreation Centre

Cost: Free.

Afterwards (optional): We’ll head to a nearby spot for drinks and a chat☕. I’m thinking Art House Cafe or Natural History Bar, but I’m open to suggestions! If you can’t make the yoga session, you’re welcome to meet us there.

Join us for a hike along the Brown Lake in the Gatineau Park! The trail is easy, a 5.6 km loop with a total elevation rise of about 108 meters and plenty of beautiful scenery. We'll meet at the P17 in the Gatineau Park which is near Wakefield and some 25 min from downtown Ottawa.

Here's the hike path:

Due to the distance to the starting point, we'll organize carpooling from the Supreme Court parking lot. Please be there by 11:30 if you wish to hitch a ride or organize with us in the chat. Here's the carpooling meeting from which we'll depart to the Gatineau Park:

If the majority wants, we can pop over to Wakefield after the hike and grab coffee, ice cream or other refreshments.

Here's a list of recommended gear to bring:

• Layers: Base layer (moisture-wicking), mid-layer (fleece), and a waterproof jacket.
• Hat and gloves: Lightweight, in case it’s chilly.
• Footwear: Waterproof hiking boots and wool socks.
• Daypack: For carrying water and essentials.
• Water (1 liter per person).
• High-energy snacks: Trail mix, energy bars.
• First-aid kit.

Thursday after work event to connect and socialize at the Waverley on Elgin. The burgers are $11.95 on Thursdays and they taste pretty good. Beer is $5.

🎨 What Is Art? A Walk Through the Ages, Part II – National Gallery
Join us for our second walk through the National Gallery of Canada, exploring how the meaning of “art” has changed over the centuries!
We’ll start in the medieval period and finish with a contemporary work, stopping at a handful of pieces in chronological order along the way. At each stop, we’ll ask a simple question: what did “art” mean to the people who made it, and what does it mean to us today? No lectures, just looking, chatting, and forming our own opinions.
This time we’ll visit different works from different countries than our first tour, so whether you joined us last time or not, there’s plenty new to discover.
You definitely don’t need to be an art expert. Curiosity is all you need!
