About us
Open Book is a men's book club in Fort Lauderdale for guys who actually want to talk — about what they read, what it stirred up, and what it means to be living the life they're living.
We read fiction that starts a conversation. Not beach reads, not self-help in disguise — novels with something to say about being human. Each month we gather for dinner and/or wine in Oakland Park and dig into the book. One member leads the discussion each meeting, so the group belongs to everyone.
Open Book is for men of all ages, orientations, and backgrounds. Straight, gay, somewhere in between — all welcome. The only real requirement is that you read the book and show up willing to be honest.
First book for May 2026: A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles.

After some reflection, I've decided to consolidate and bring book club into my other Meetup, Men's Friendship and Social Circle. I'm going through a lot personally, so it will be easier to manage one group, and honestly the community over there is a great fit for the kind of conversations we've been having here.
