If you are a lover of science fiction, fantasy and/or horror literature, please feel free to join us each month via Zoom for book discussions. Each person is free to choose their own title each month based around a common theme or author. Discussion of titles and brainstorming for future readings will be a part of each meeting. This month's themed discussion will be "Gods and Pantheons." This theme is inspired by the r/fantasy 2025 Book Bingo Challenge, and the prompt for this challenge reads, "Read a book featuring divine beings. HARD MODE: There are multiple pantheons involved." I'm hoping this theme is easy to find a book for!
If you are having a hard time finding a book, here are a few recommendations:
- Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (middle grade)
- The Games Gods Play by Abigail Owens (adult romantasy)
- Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson (high fantasy)
- The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons(high fantasy)
- Small Gods by Terry Pratchett (comedic fantasy)
