What we’re about
Our Mission
To bring together individuals from all walks of life within local communities to find common ground and collaborate.
As Peace Builders
We seek truth with open hearts and minds, taking time to learn, reflect, and deepen our compassion for ourselves and others. We nurture meaningful relationships across cultures, backgrounds, and with the environment we share. In the face of conflict, we choose understanding over division, using dialogue, resolution, and non-violent civil disobedience as tools for unity—not violence.

See all- Poor People's Campaign: Moral Monday: MemphisLink visible for attendees
"Through Jim Crow, the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, and beyond, history has consistently taught us that the poorest and most marginalized communities have a profound ability to create change – even when the future seems the bleakest. Today is no different. Yes, lawmakers have succeeded in codifying one of the most morally-bankrupt pieces of legislation in our history. But in doing so, they’ve laid the groundwork for a movement that is truly by and for poor and working class people. If we mobilize just a fraction of these people, we can transform our nation’s entire landscape."
Bishop Barber and Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove write about Fannie Lou Hamer and her fierce persistence in the fight for voting rights. They share the story as a source of inspiration—and invite all to a new Freedom Summer.
