What we’re about

Read, learn & evolve!

Personal Growth Book Club, is the first club of its kind in Copenhagen, which offers a space for individuals interested in personal growth to meet, discuss and together explore self-improvement related topics. A best seller book (potentially a TED Talk) provides a starting point for discussion, and members are encouraged to share thoughts about the book as well their own experiences with challenges they may have faced.

In our club, we focus on a plethora of topics including changing habits, cultivating resilience, being more productive and many more. The aim is to become better versions of ourselves, achieve more success, and contribute to the communities we live in.

Meeting Time & Place:
Once a month / online or announced for each event
Joining the club:

Anyone interested in reading and discussing books is welcome - no fee required.

Welcome to the Personal Growth BookClub Copenhagen!

A new season start and the bookclub is welcoming new members and looking forward to reconnect with the existing members. We have revisited what went well and what we can improve for this new season and we agreed on a few changes (see below).

On the 22nd of November we will discuss How to Flourish in a Crazy World after reading A little book of Emotional Intelligence

Main book
A little book of Emotional Intelligence by Andy Cope, Amy Bradley
[This is an unusual book but very much worth reading it]

Short material:
Summary of Goleman's book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6MRsGwyMuQ
School of Life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgUCyWhJf6s
Daniel Goleman's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erfgEHHfFkU
[yes, these short materials are not about the main book]

Alternative book:
"Emotional Intelligence - Why It Can Matter More Than IQ" by Daniel Goleman

What can you expect from the meetup?

  • A safe space to discuss about the topic
  • A short summary of the book by one of the members
  • A not-so-strict moderated discussion based on the book
  • Sometimes, short participative activities to activate the discussion or reach common grounds and conclusions.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes from October 2025:

  1. Meetups are still based on topics but there will be a main book to lead the discussion. An optional book (often a more popular one) will also be suggested.
  2. One member will make a short summary of the book to introduce the topic (and the book)
  3. The moderator(s) will be chosen randomly from a pool of volunteers.
  4. The book club accepts donations to afford the Meetup Fee. MobilePay: 8145PW. Donations are not mandatory and the quantity is free.
