Philly Paddleboard and Kayak

Launch from Chesapeake City Landing and paddle on the C&D Canal. There are several small creeks we can check out off the canal. I've never been here so we will be exploring. Be prepared to be on the water paddling 4+ miles; 3-4 hours with stops. Bring snacks, water. Possible apres paddle :)

Reminders:

1. Posted time is meet time. Please be ready to leave the launch site within a half hour after posted meet time.
2. Keep notifications on for any pertaining updates or changes such as weather, water, or traffic conditions day of and hours leading up to the event.
3. SAFETY: You must have a PFD, rescue light, and whistle on board your vessel at all times as per state/ federal laws; however you are not required to wear it May 1- October 31. If you plan to leave the group at any time during the trip, (ie turn back early, or need a break) please let someone know, ie call or whistle to get someone’s attention.
4. Inflatable kayaks such as Intex are strongly cautioned for safety reasons. They are typically not meant for the distances most trips entail. Inflatable SUPs are fine.
5. ALL PADDLE ACTIVITIES ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
6. If your plans change and you cannot attend, please change your RSVP ASAP so we know not to expect you.

Paddle from Canton Waterfront Park up the Patapsco River to the national aquarium and historic ships then down to Ft. McHenry, pass by the Lazaretto Point Lighthouse and return to the park. Total trip is approximately 6-7 miles/ 3 hours depending on how many coves we venture in/out of. We will stop en route so pack snacks. Possible apres nearby for MD crabs!

Rental Info: I've made arrangements with Baltimore SUP to deliver and pick up SUPs/kayaks at our launch point for $65/ 3 hours. Typically they rent out of the inner harbor for a higher rate. Reservations need to be confirmed by 7/31 to reserve your kayak or SUP. No refunds however, individual gift cards will be issued for a future use with Baltimore SUP. Please contact me directly if you wish to rent a kayak or SUP for this event.

Paddle to the waterfalls on the lake. Be sure to pack snacks and water since we will be making food, hydration and swim stops en route. We will pull ashore for a short hike to see one of the water falls so bring adequate footwear. The waterfall is approximately 4 miles from where we launch, 8 miles round trip; estimated 4 hours on the water.
