Our Philosophy Salon Hamburg amis to provide a platform for inspiring, intellectually stimulating conversation among interesting people. The idea is to meet once in a while and enjoy the afternoon together in a nice Café. We have different forms, including topic discussion, movie discussion, book discussion, reading/writing afternoon... Welcome to join us!
2. Who should join your group?
Welcome people from any cultural background and different professional areas! I believe international community can give us more insights on different topics.

Movie Discussion: <Project Hail Mary>
Planten un Blumen, Hamburg, DEHey dear friends :)
For this event, we will have a movie discussion - - “Project Hail Mary”. This story, though being fun enough, pulls us into big questions without giving easy answers: what actually defines us as human, how free our choices really are under extreme pressure, and whether morality still holds when we leave the familiar world behind.
Let’s keep it open - feel free to bring your own thoughts into the space!Here are some potential questions to discuss:
1. What actually makes us “human”? Memory, relationships, moral instinct or something else?
2. If your memory and past are taken away, does your identity still exist and in what form?
3. Would you make the same “ethical” decision if you had no real alternative? Is it still a choice then?
4. Can morality exist outside of a human context or is it always tied to our species and environment?
5. Is saving humanity worth the loss of your own life, memory, or identity and where would you personally draw that line?Strategies may help the discussion:
1.Please try to answer the question or ask a more fundamental one, rather than substitute with something else.
2.Please state your point first then support it by examples/explanations. We try to stick to the main topic, if you have many ideas/examples we can talk after the event :)
3.We try to let people finish the statements. However, if you talk too long without clear main points, we will intervene.
!!! You are kindly asked to sign up for events, or at least let hosts know before you come. You will be kicked out from the group after 3 times attending without registration.
!!! Please be careful that we will discuss in English :)
