Welcome to Recess - Enthusiasm is the permission, not skill.

This is an activity based community that will host events primarily, but not exclusively, in the Northwest Suburbs of the Chicagoland area. This group will be inclusive to all skill levels, ages and abilities. The goal will always be shared fun, cause if you have fun, you can't lose.

Outdoor recess:

Pickup sports at an inclusive safe pace/intensity like tennis, flag football, ultimate, softball, street hockey, soccer, Pickle ball Volley ball and or disc golf... These events would always start with a warm up / learning time / practice and would only become a score kept game if possible and desired by the group present.

Nature / Adventure activities: hiking, picnics, kayaking, bicycling, Mountain biking, Skateboarding / Rollerblading / Ice skating / Roller skating, Snow Shoeing, skiing, and exct...

Indoor recess:
Boardgames, puzzles, arts, crafts and exct...

***Safety note*** Events involving dangerous modes of travel will always feature a host who will model proper safety equipment, and everyone is strongly encouraged to bring and wear their own, especially helmets. Your brain is who you are, keep that safe, always. If you do not have access to that equipment, please post a comment about that in the event or message the host directly. Maybe someone has extra and maybe we can find something cheap at play it again sports, goodwill or facebook marketplace that you can pick up or this group can add to the communal share bin for future events.

Danger is way more fun when it is done safely and this community will not judge you for your decisions, but it will always encourage and model the the better decisions.
