Balboa Park Beginner Ride
Morley Field Sports Complex, 2221 Morley Field Dr, San Diego, CA, USWelcome to the Beginner ride at Balboa Park! This group is geared towards new riders getting comfortable with their mountain bike and dirt trails.
All participants need to complete the SDMBA waiver at least once every 6 months. SDMBA Waiver
This is a no-drop, beginner paced ride around some of the best trails Balboa Park has to offer with time to work on some basic skills. The ride is from 5:30pm-7:00pm, with frequent stops to regroup and to work on skills. Average distance is 5-8 miles with ~200ft elevation gain.
We will meet in the parking lot (see the map) and ride out to the trails together. Lights are required during the winter months. It is best to have a helmet light and a handlebar light. Nite Rider and Bright Eyes are good lights to consider.

Mountain biking can be a dangerous sport, and learning new skills can be challenging. Always wear a helmet, bring plenty of water and if any part of the trail is above your ability and/or comfort zone it is okay to walk it.
