*The admission fee for this event is 10,000 won for 3+ hours of in-depth discussion, instruction, and practical application of storywriting techniques.
Overview:
Pixar Animation Studios has set the gold standard for stories that captivate audiences across cultural and generational lines.
If you've ever wondered how they manage to craft such amazing stories, then this meetup can provide insights to help improve your own writing.
First, we will discuss the Core Concepts that are generally necessary to write any type of story.
Then, we will deconstruct various Pixar movies as examples of how they integrate these timeless story concepts with their own storytelling style to tap into the universal human experience.
With that foundation of concepts and examples, we will then practice applying this knowledge in writing exercises to improve our own story craft techniques.
There will be spoilers of Pixar movies, as necessary, to discuss plot developments.

Some info about me:
I'm a student of the writing craft who's read and applied concepts from over a hundred books on how to write fiction, a veteran of creative writing programs, and a semi-pro author (ie, published online and making some money but not enough to write full-time yet).
If 'journeyman writer' is a thing - and I think it should be - then I'm an artisan on a long quest to learn and develop the specific techniques of my trade, who's recently ascended my apprenticeship and begun to merit 'a day's wages' for my work. Maybe this idea resonates with you as well.
JC's Journeyman Writer Workshop
I make no claim that this is a 'MasterClass' like those offered by famous authors.
But as a 'journeyman' author who has acquired a good deal of knowledge, skill, and experiece over several decades of writing stories, I want to see if there is a market for people who want to learn storywriting techniques at a reasonable cost. I'm intrigued by the possibility of developing Seoul's own writing workshop program, similar to the famous Clarion Workshop.
Mostly though, my goal is to establish a thriving community of writers, and instill the appreciation of Storywriting as a craft, just as artists learn illustration techniques, and musicians learn how to compose music.
I'm hoping there's enough interest to continue these workshops, so I look forward to meeting you fellow writers out there ~^^
