Time: 5:30p EXCEPT June, July and August are at 6p!
When: Ongoing unless stated on FB/IG stories at @svbcoalitionbike (check there for weather concerns) - if there is a 40% chance of storms on weather.com during 5p-7p, we will cancel.
Location: Meet at Massanutten Western Slope Parking Lot
Pace: ~12 min/miles
Length: Join for the first 3 miles, and continue on for another 3 miles with the group if you’d like!
Run Surface: We run out to the pond on double-track gravel for the first 1.5 miles; the rest is a single-track trail.
Weather/Cancellation: Look for announcements on FB and IG stories and communication channels (@svbcoalition). There will not be an organized SVBC-sponsored event in the forecast for 40% of storms or greater during the time period of 5p-7p (check Weather.com).
Regrouping: This is a community run, designed to regroup at every intersection and stick together. This is not a workout/training day! We all run together :)
Route: We will meet by the parking lot and loop back in 3-mile increments.

This free screening of "The Street Project" at the Visualite Theatre, reminds us why creating safer streets for all of us - walkers, bike riders, and drivers - is a must.

Created by an Emmy-winning team, The Street Project uses an uplifting narrative from cycling-friendly meccas in Europe, to New York City and Phoenix, Arizona – one of the most dangerous cities in America for pedestrians – for a deep dive into how America views our streets and how they can be made safer.

The Street Project looks at how we got here, what makes street design effective, how the automobile changed how we use our streets, victim blaming, the impact of zoning laws on street transportation, and much more.

Our keynote speaker is Charles T Brown, Founder and CEO of Equitable Cities - a minority- and veteran-owned urban planning, public policy, and research firm focused on the intersection of transportation, health, and equity. He's also the creator and host of the Arrested Mobility podcast and an adjunct professor at Rutgers University's Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.

Join us to celebrate another great season on the Western Slope

• What: We're looking at wrapping up another BIG year on the Western Slope.
• Join us for the party at the pond! Bonfire/Pizza/S'mores/Group Ride and more.
• When: Friday, October 3

-7:00 PM Volunteer of the Year Award

• Where: We will hang out at the pond and our group ride will leave from there.
• Why: Celebrate another season of great trail building, riding, and partnership with the Western Slope Trail Crews.
• Who is Invited? Everyone! Whether you had a tool in hand this season or not we want to celebrate with you.

The Western Slope will close for hunting from November 1st to Jan 2nd. It will remain open for night riding (1 hour after sunset) and open for riding on Sundays.
