Leisure Bike Ride Spooky Theme: C+O Canal - Paw Paw Tunnel - miles 149.6 - 157.2

Distance/Difficulty: Approx. 15.2 miles/EASY
Duration: 3.0 hours

Description: This is a leisure bike ride viewing nature, learning about history spots, and the spooky lore of the tunnel along the canal. We will be keeping a simple and easy pace. There will be many spots with history and pretty views of the river.
Bring: Helmet (MANDATORY), bike, spare tube, flashlight or head lamp, water and snack. Dress in layers and shoes that are appropriate for weather conditions. Free, donations are welcome.

Day Hike: Poor House Farm - Check out New WV Swing & with Spooky Lore from the past

Distance/Difficulty: Approx. 4.5 miles/EASY to MODERATE
Duration: 2.5 hours

Description: The hike will be on trails for hiking, biking, and disc golf at Poor House Farm Park. We will see orchards, forests and farms. While hiking we will learn some of the history of the farm, check out the new WV tourism swing, along with the ghostly lore with a fall theme closing with apple cider and pumpkin treats. This hike is open to anyone who can handle hiking/walking on some uneven ground and some inclines on a steep grassy hillside. You can bring your disc golf Frisbees if you like since we will have opportunities to try out your skills and have fun.

Bring: Bring plenty of water and a snack. Dress in layers and shoes that are appropriate for weather conditions. Free, donations are welcome.

Late Afternoon Hike: Fall Foliage Sweet Run State Park and See Raptors

Distance/Difficulty: Approx. 4.5 miles/EASY to MODERATE
Duration: 3.0 hours

Description: The trail winds through lush forests and open meadows of Sweet Run State Park along with the remnants of a 19th-century farming community, including historic structures and Wortman Pond. At 5:30 pm the Secret Garden of Bees of Birds will have a presentation with Raptors.

Bring: There is $10 per car for VA State Park entry fee, or you can use your VA State Park Pass, Deposit bottom part of the REI receipt in the entry envelope, or check out the State Park Pass from the Loudoun County library.
Bring plenty of water and a snack. Dress in layers and shoes are appropriate for weather conditions.
