Join us for Grass Volleyball events throughout Southern California (LA/OC/IE/SD).
We have hosted grass volleyball games in Anaheim, Arcadia, Brea, Cerritos, Chino Hills, Claremont, Costa Mesa, Covina, Diamond Bar, Eastvale, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Hacienda Heights, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Lake Forest, Lakewood, Los Angeles, Monrovia, North Hollywood, Newport Beach, Oceanside, Pasadena, Placentia, Reseda, Riverside, Rosemead, San Diego, San Dimas, San Gabriel, Santa Ana, Torrance, Tustin, Westminster, Winnetka, and Whittier.
SoCal Grass Volleyball is open to volleyball players of all skill levels; however, different events may be designated for certain skill levels.

NOTE: The amount of time you have been playing does not necessarily correlate with your skill level.
NOVICE: Players are new to volleyball and may still be developing their skills to Serve, Pass, Set, and/or Hit the ball over the net consistently. They may also be learning the basic rules, players positions, and etiquette of volleyball. RATING: 0-1
[Typical Experience: None, School PE, Recreational, w/ Friends & Family]
HIGH BEGINNER: Players can accurately Serve, Pass, Set, and Hit the ball over the net at least 50% of the time AND understand and follow all the basic rules, player positions, and etiquette of volleyball. RATING: 1-2
[Typical Experience: School PE, Recreational, Meetups]
LOW INTERMEDIATE: Players can accurately Serve, Pass, Set, and Hit the ball over the net at least 60% of the time AND understand and follow all the basic rules, player positioning, defensive strategy, and etiquette of volleyball. RATING: 2-4
[Typical Experience: Recreational, Meetups, Leagues]
MID INTERMEDIATE: Players can Serve, Pass, and Set the ball with 70% accuracy and can regularly Spike the ball from above the net. RATING: 4-6
[Typical Experience: Meetups, High School Team, Leagues]
HIGH INTERMEDIATE: Players can Serve, Pass, and Set the ball with 80% accuracy and can regularly Spike the ball Down for a Kill. RATING: 6-8
[Typical Experience: HS Varsity, Leagues, Tournaments, Collegiate]
ADVANCED: Players can Serve, Pass, and Set the ball with 90% accuracy and can regularly Spike the ball Down and around Blocks for a Kill. RATING: 8-10

4.) Have each team member write Your Name in the skill level line, last

NO REFUNDS for not showing up, being late, and/or not playing, etc.

POOL PLAY: Begins at 9:15am and will conclude by Noon.
PLAYOFFS: Teams will be separated into Upper and Lower Brackets based on your pool play records. Each bracket will play a single elimination playoff beginning by Noon and will conclude by 2pm!
TWO WINNERS!!! Winner of each bracket: $150 team prize!EVENT HOSTS: Reserve the right to remove players from the RSVP list and/or Event based on the player NOT meeting the required SKILL level of play, NOT being able to keep up with the PACE of the games, posing a RISK on or off the court to other players, NOT following the rules of the Event and/or Park, and/or at their own discretion.
SKILL LEVELS: A fuller description of player skill levels can be found on the "About" page of SoCal Grass Volleyball.
LATE CANCELATIONS: Late Cancelations will be marked as a "No Show!"
LATE ARRIVALS: Everyone must sign-in by 9am, and contribute a donation to be placed on a team to participate.
NO SHOWS: "No Shows" may be removed from the group!
TEAMS: Players who sign up Individually will be placed on Teams of 4s (possibly 3s or 5s) with Players of Similar Skill Level.
POOL PLAY: Two pools. Each team will play each team once. Teams will then be ranked and divided into Upper and Lower Brackets to play in a single elimination play off.
PLAYOFFS: Playoffs will begin by Noon and conclude by 2pm! Top teams from pool play will move on to the Upper Bracket, lower teams to the Lower Bracket! $150 Cash Prize + 4 Tournament "Champs" T-shirts for the winning team in Each Bracket.
REFS: Players from an "off" team will be responsible for referring games.
SERVES: Let serves are good. No attacking the serve above the net.
NETS: Touching the net is a fault unless the net is pushed into you.
DINKS: NO Open hand Dinks/Tips allowed in games of 4s. You must use a closed fist, strike the ball, or roll it off of your hand. You may NOT push, tip, or redirect the ball with an open hand!
BLOCKS: Touching the block will not count as one of the three contacts. The blocker can re-hit the ball.
LEGAL HITS: The ball can be played with all parts of the body EXCEPT the Head. You may not intentionally hit the ball with your HEAD (because it results in an unhygienic, sweaty volleyball).
SETTING: Intentionally setting the ball over the net must be in the direction the player is facing (forward or backwards). Accidental oversets are not a fault. The sets over the net must be clean (with no more than one rotation) and may NOT be redirected. No Throws!
ROTATION: Teams of Four or more players must use a standard rotation where by all players rotate through each position. The serve must come from a backrow player. Backrow players cannot attack the ball from above the net past the ten foot line.
ANTENNAS: No antennas, so the ball must cross the net between the poles.
PARK RULES: We are guests at the park. Please abide by all of the rules of the park posted by the City.
PARKING: Parking is available on Grassland near Sheppard and Triple Leaf streets.
BATHROOMS: Public bathrooms are available near the courts.
SCHEDULE:
8:30am Setup & Sign-ins!
9:00am Sign-ins Closed. Teams and pools formed.
9:15am Pool play begins.
12:00pm Playoffs begin!
