*Please note - This group does not give any priority to Meet-up Plus members. Everyone is treated equally and places on events are allocated strictly by rsvp time*
This group is for people over 50 in Edinburgh and the surrounding area who perhaps find going out socialising a bit more difficult due to a long term health condition but still like to get out and have fun. Aim is to meet up and chat, share life experiences, have good times out and make new friends.
Events will include eating out, cinema, theatre, live music, short strolls, visits to galleries and museums but I'm very open to suggestions to what members of the group would like to do. If any member of the group would like to organise events that interest them that would be great.
Group guidelines -
Please have a fairly recent photo of yourself as your profile picture, it makes it easier for the organiser to recognise you and welcome you when you attend for the first time.
A lot of our events are restaurant bookings where numbers are restricted. Please be aware that when you rsvp yes to this type of event you are making a commitment to attending for the duration of the meal (2 hours minimum). I have found that it can be quite disruptive for the group if someone has to leave while others are still eating and it also means the person leaving early is unable to fully participate in the event. If you realise after signing up that due to other commitments you are not going to be able to stay for the required time then please be considerate to others and give up your place to let someone else get the opportunity to attend and enjoy the whole event.
Please remember that we are meeting up to socialise so try and keep phone use to a minimum during the events.
Please update your RSVP if you find you are unable to attend an event at any time right up to the last minute. No-shows and last minute cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) may deprive other members from attending events. Repeat offenders may be removed from the group but as this is a group for people with health conditions a bit leniency will be given.
A donation of £1.00 in cash each time you attend an event to help cover the cost of Meetup fees would be appreciated.

Christmas Lunch @ Blonde
Blonde Restaurant, 71-75 Saint Leonard's Street, Edinburgh, GBAn early December, more relaxed Christmas lunch at Blonde. 3 courses £28.90. Hopefully some group members who for whatever reason aren't going to the main Christmas lunch will be able to make this.
