What we’re about
Welcome! I'm so glad you found us... Welcome to our community. Our group is alive and well and growing by leaps and bounds. We host both online and live events, mostly but not exclusively in the Orange County area.
As of 2022, I am leading transformational groups to Greece in September and once in Costa Rica in June. Please check out my travel website at lesbiangetaways.com for trip info. I would love it if you joined the mailing list. This separates out our special announcements from all the other meetup emails which can be overwhelming at times. The occasional emails will come from Lesbian Getaways.
I have been so touched by the intimacy and connections that are being created ongoingly through our group interactions. Lots of close friendships and circles have been made and yes, even some romance! I try to mix it up and keep it interesting and I’m always open to new ideas and feedback. My commitment to every member is that there are no "outsiders" and all folks that identify as a woman loving women are welcome. I believe that the experience of feeling welcome and included is palpable in our group events whether live or on Zoom.
For FB users, please follow us (facebook.com/somanywomensolittletime/). If you would like to be part of our secret FB group or our So Cal Lesbian Pickleballers group, please email me at lesbiangetaways@gmail.com and let me know. Once in, you can invite your friends directly from there.
I ask that you please set your notifications at minimum to receive organizer messages and new event announcements. This has to be done while actually on our group site. You can find the settings by clicking on your round profile photo on the top right corner and select email and notifications.
I am so looking forward to meeting you whether it be online or in person when that time comes.
With Enthusiasm,
Your organizer, Jody

YOU ARE INVITED: Please join the So Many Women...So Little Time contingency at the annual beach party! We usually have a spot in one of the far corners closest to the water. Our sign will be up (hopefully early). You are always welcome to come and hang with us at any point.
If you have any games or toys that would be fun to play together, please bring them. We will also have a table set up for shared food.
If you have any decoration ideas, by all means share them!IMPORTANT INFO: You can come for any and all of this day. The parking lot will fill up by noon so I would recommend coming by 11am or waiting until 4pm. Another option is to park somewhere else and take a Lyft. They will probably have to drop you off across the street or nearby.
We will be a lifeguard station 11. Look carefully at the exact location of the pin drop to find us. There will be a bunch of canopies set up in a big square and there should be pride flags around. If you can't find us, CALL me. Don't text because I probably won't hear it.

Imagine an ocean horizon filled with laughter and freedom. Canopies stretch like wings across the sand, each one a little sanctuary where old friendships rekindle and new sparks fly. Music pulses. Feet dance. Bodies sway. The air is electric with joy, care, and a little flirtation. You bring yourself, we’ll bring the love. This is what you will experienceWhat to expect:
Welcome to our annual heart-powered beach celebration gathering planned especially for you, for us! Where joy, music, and radical love take center stage. This is about “Community over Competition”, and LOVE over everything. Because joy, respect, friendship and play remind us that community is still one of the most powerful things we have. Because spending a day with beautiful people who celebrate with each other can help restore a little hope. This is about choosing ease, choosing laughter, choosing togetherness—especially now. No pressure, no pretense, just shared sunshine and good company. Leave the luggage and politics behind. Our beach transforms…the beach becomes our temple. The music, our spell. The community, our revolution. You bring the magic. We’ll hold the space!

- Let's Read... Coast Guard Rescue OneLink visible for attendees
Hello book lovers! Let’s read and discuss – Coast Guard Rescue One, by Natalie Debrabandere. ARMY CAPT. JORDAN ARMSTRONG SURRENDERED A PIECE OF HER SOUL TO THE BURNING SANDS OF AFGHANISTAN
Now back home, only two things keep her going: her demanding job as a Search and Rescue pilot and sailing her 45-foot yacht around the coast of McKinley Point, Western Australia – alone. Plenty of women have tried to reach behind her walls, but Jordan remains aloof.
When American expat Sara Matthews shows up in her life and takes an instant dislike to her, it sets her heart on fire. For the first time in what feels like forever, Jordan truly wants to be seen and understood. She desperately wants Sara to discover the real person behind the mask.
AND SO, IT BEGINS... *** ‘Classic Lesfic – hugely entertaining!’ ***

NOTES FOR MEETING
Please be prompt, at 6:30 pm Pacific, and plan to stay until we close out as a group or at 8:00 pm Pacific. We open with a short icebreaker within a few minutes of the start time, which is great for getting to know one another better. Arriving late or leaving early “individually” can distract the group discussion, so arriving on time and staying until 8:00 pm Pacific, is appreciated. We do occasionally stay later but if you need to bow out then, no worries. And…we could finish early. (Early has not happened, but I am just saying it could. Lol.)
* It is a social event so please have your video ON. It is also for transparency and peace of mind for all our members in this Zoom world.
WHERE: Zoom - Attendees will receive a private link and password on the day of the event. I will post a comment when I have sent it. Please do not share or post the link or your password.
Make sure your Meet Up notification setting for email is on for this group. (If you saw this book discussion announced via email, your setting is on. ;))
WHAT TO BRING
Bring your sweet self, any notes you want to share, and your favorite beverage. :)- YES RSVPs, if you can't make it, please take a moment to change your RSVP to NOT GOING asap. It is just a courteous thing to do. :)
** If you are new to Zoom, watch this video. Make sure to watch the video to the end. (A little over 5 minutes.) A senior does a great job of showing the various items you will want to know about. It is easy! Really. https://youtu.be/kh50kVaIdAY
