This event normally takes place monthly on the First Friday. But since that's July 4th . . . we will push the event one week.
July first Friday will be on the 2nd Friday.

The event was started by the first organizer on the group and dates back to 2017. It has continued since then.

Let's go get our Wine Time on and watch the Sunset while we chill and connect.

This event is perfect if you are a first-timer or newcomer. It's a welcoming group of folks.

If you are more seasoned with meetup or the group . . . then great!!! You are the welcome wagon!!

The Lobby Bar is open and seating is available in the adjacent room and on the patio. There is a bar eats menu if you're hungry.

Meet-Up Host: The host can change each month. Or stay the same. In other words whoever wishes to step-up and host is welcome to. Just post in the comments. Or if you are an Event Organizer on the group . . just add yourself. Multiple hosts are allowed and encouraged.

MEET-UP LOCATION: Go through the lobby area to the patio. We may be inside depending on seating availability and weather conditions. But generally outside. Ask . . . "are you with the meetup" is the best way to find the meetup. We are aiming NOT to stand out as a rowdy crowd. But rather a subdued group of friends enjoying the company and location.

Meet-Up Time: Let's MeetUp after work around 6:30PM-ish (depending on traffic and everyone's commute.)

Meet-Up Date: . . . Each month . . . right before the event . . . the date will move to the next date.
In this way all attendees do not need to find next month's event to RSVP. You will already be RSVP'd to go. Or not . . . if you wish to change your RSVP to "no" for the next date.

About Terranea . . .

• Once a part of the Channel Islands, the Palos Verdes Peninsula shifted slowly over millions of years and fused to the mainland coast of California. As a result, there is a unique collection of rocks and plant species that can only be found along the Peninsula and on the Islands.
• Palos Verdes takes its name from Cañada de Palos Verdes or "canyon of green trees."
• Prior to Juan Cabrillo's Spanish discovery of the Peninsula in 1542, the indigenous Gabrielino-Tongva Tribe lived prosperous lives as seafarers, traders, and fishermen on this land's terraced hills and sheltering coves. Years passed as stewardship slipped from Spanish land grants to private ownership.
• In 1913, 16,000 acres of this beautiful land was purchased by a consortium of New York investors led by Frank A. Vanderlip. Vanderlip built the first homes and grand estates on the land in 1924, inspired by a vision of coastal Mediterranean Villages
• Japanese farming communities, developed in the early 1900s, also influenced and helped cultural character. On the northwest hillside adjacent to Terranea remains one of the last Japanese farms, growing flowers and prickly pears.
• In 1954, the site became home to Marineland of the Pacific, a seaside animal theme park, which was the world's largest oceanarium at that time. Opening one year before Disneyland, many considered it California's first major theme park. It was best known for its performing orcas or killer whales.
• From 1958 to 1961 the TV adventure series, "Sea Hunt." was filmed here. Countless other films and TV have been set in the area including "Pirates of the Caribbean," "The Aviator," "Charlie's Angels," "This Is 40," and "Savages."
• Marineland was sold and closed in 1986 when acquired by SeaWorld in San Diego (which opened in 1964).
• Terranea opened in 2009

This is an ongoing monthly event . . . HOWEVER . . . only one month is posted at a time. Meaning when this event occurs . . . the next gets posted. In this way . . . only one is posted so more folks RSVP and attend.

In fact . . . there can and will even be several Event Hosts . . . New faces are a good thing, . . . AND . . . You are more than welcome to be one of the event hosts.

• NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY to be the Event Host
• All you have to do is smile and wave . . . and you can to that . . . right?
• Seriously . . . being the host is awesome because everybody wants to talk to you and say hello. There can ALSO be more than one host!!!!

PHOTOS: Everybody . . . Take phots and do upload ANY pix you shoot. . . especially those with people in them. Better yet . . . pix of people together having fun.
There will be an award for best sunset shot and best large group shot.

Did you know that many newcomers to meetup don't show up because they don't know what will happen or that it will be fun. Pix from past events help tell the story of what happens. And it helps them to picture themselves there with you next time.
