What we’re about
Come Ride With Us! The Spokane Bicycle Club is a recreational and social organization that promotes lifelong cycling for fun and health. Group rides range from leisurely 10-mile social rides to longer fitness and endurance rides, as well as occasional multi-day tours. Some rides are urban and some are in the wider Inland Northwest around Spokane and Coeur d'Alene. We offer monthly meetings showcasing cycling adventures and innovation, and we advocate for safe cycling through sponsoring and supporting cycle-positive events and activities. More about our club can be found at: www.spokanebicycleclub.org. See all- Sunday in the ParksManito Park, Spokane, WA
Meeting Location/Address: Manito Park, Upper Manito Playground, E 25th & S Tekoa St
Start Time 8:15 AM, rollout 8:30 AM
Distance 17-mile loop, elevation gain 1,030 Feet
Pace 10-14 MPH on flats
Route description:
Come spend a Sunday morning riding through some of Spokane’s favorite parks including Manito, Riverfront, Lincoln Park, Cannon Hill, High Bridge, Centennial Trail and a one-mile coast on the Ben Burr Trail. E-Bikes and Manual bikes are welcomed but elevation can be tough climbing around South Hill. The loop will take us through some classic old neighborhoods with plenty of shaded streets to help keep us cool. On the menu is a stop at one of many downtown cafes en route (most likely Madeleine's Cafe & Patisserie).
There will be a re-group at the corner of W. 9th & S. Oak after a long climb from Vinegar Flats. Other re-groups will occur if needed. We will encounter about one-half mile of a packed-gravel when riding High Bridge Park.
It’s the Journey
This ride is designed for its scenery, variety and occasional relief from the summer sun.Riding at a slower pace allows for better maneuvering around South Hill potholes, tree root bumps, and trolley-rails while viewing classic residential architecture.
Due to a Sunday morning possibly being busy on the Centennial Trail, having a bike bell and mirror is recommended.
Please note: Class two E-bikes are not allowed on the Centennial Trail.
Helmets Required on all SBC Rides

Constructed starting in 1899 as part of a flour mill canal, the ditch originated at a head gate located on the Spokane River in the town of Post Falls, Idaho. From there it snaked through 34 miles at a constant grade and then on to 54 miles of lateral canals. There are still bits and pieces of it visible if you know where to look.
