About us
Welcome to Steel City RPG!
We host RPG events in locations across Pittsburgh for those who share a passion for Role-Playing Games, Sci-Fi, or slaying Dragons in Dungeons. We are a new group working to provide a safe and welcoming environment for public game nights featuring a variety of TTRPGs.
New player? Veteran? Dungeons and Dragons enjoyer? GURPS enthusiast? All are welcome!
Let's roll the dice and embark on epic journeys within the realms of imagination!
Beyond our public game days, we also provide a hub for connecting people for campaigns and general RPG discussion. If you are interested in advertising your campaign or finding a campaign to join, check out our community hub on Discord, a space we created specifically to give more exposure to events and people looking to form or join a group!

Echoes of the Veil / Dead Signal / Lawrenceville RPG Day 13
A street medic named Lena Voss was picked up by EdenTech two days ago. Nobody knows why — she's nobody. But Juar3z is paying extraction rates, and the transfer window closes at dawn.
Dead Signal is a one-shot for Echoes of the Veil, a fast, cinematic cyberpunk TTRPG about revolution, hard choices, and taking down corporate power — set in a world where the WEIRD never left. It just got buried. Powered by Forged in the Dark.
The mission starts clean. It doesn't stay that way.
- Infiltration, improvisation, and things going sideways
- The WEIRD is real — and the building knows you're here
- Every choice has a price
No RPG experience needed. Characters are built together at the start of the session — no homework, no prep, just show up.

RPG Game Day 14 - Halfling's Hideout
Halfing's Hideout, 730 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, USJoin us Sunday for a Tabletop RPG Game Day at Halfling's Hideout in Brookline, Pittsburgh.
Whether you've never touched a d20 or you've been rolling dice for years, you've got a seat at the table. Our GMs run standalone one-shots across a mix of systems — D&D, indie games, narrative RPGs, and whatever they're most excited to bring. No experience required. Pre-generated characters are available for most games.
Halfling's Hideout is a tabletop specialty shop with dedicated table space and terrain available for GMs who want to add some flair to their sessions. Snacks and drinks are available in-store, and outside food is welcome. The neighborhood has great options nearby: Las Palmas for tacos and Pitaland for gyros from a local Greek bakery, plus bars and restaurants within walking distance.

D&D BECMI/ B9: Castle Caldwell & Beyond / Brookline RPG Day 14
Halfing's Hideout, 730 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, USBefore bounded accuracy. Before character builds and subclass trees. Before the dungeon acknowledged your feelings about it — there was D&D BECMI. And it ran like this.
B9: Castle Caldwell & Beyond is a published TSR module running on the 1983 rules that shaped everything that came after. BECMI strips the game to its essentials: exploration, resource pressure, and a dungeon that will absolutely kill your character if you give it the chance. Gold earns experience. Torches burn down. Death is fast and not particularly dramatic.
Character creation happens at the table — no prep, no backstory required, no attachment recommended. The format runs comfortably at larger table sizes, so bring whoever you want.
- Classic TSR module, run as designed
- Character creation at the session — arrive empty-handed
- High lethality by design: don't get attached
- Larger table capacity: bring your crew
No experience needed. The rules are light enough to learn in five minutes. The dungeon, however, does not offer a tutorial.
Prefer your D&D with a longer life expectancy? Check out other events happening for RPG Game Day.

Mothership/ Bloom / Brookline RPG Day 14
Halfing's Hideout, 730 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, USYou have the access codes. You have the floor plans. You have everything you asked for going in.
That should worry you.
Bloom is a Mothership one-shot built for a small, tight crew — horror by way of tension, isolation, and rapidly narrowing options. Your team has taken a black market contract: get into Choi Labs, a Dyson Phytology research station, acquire their samples and data, and get out. There's exactly one way down — an automated lander from the DeLange orbital station, then a single elevator descending for miles beneath the planet's ice cap to a facility buried in the deep ocean below.
- Mothership's stress-and-panic system — the tension is mechanical, not just narrative
- One route in, one route out — chokepoints define the whole job
- Claustrophobic deep-sea setting, miles beneath the ice
- High lethality — this is not a forgiving table
Content warnings: infection and succumbing to infection, body horror, dismemberment, invasion of characters' personal space and grasping, parasites, corpses, claustrophobia, drowning, suffocation, paranoia, gore, deep ocean.
Stay frosty. Get in, get out, get paid.
No experience with Mothership needed — pre-generated characters provided, fully prepped and ready to play.
Prefer your horror with more daylight? Check out other events happening for RPG Game Day.
