Hi everyone! I’m creating this weekly space for Expats, Travelers, and Remote Workers who want a comfortable place to work or unwind without being alone in a crowded café.

A note on how this works
This is a very chill, unhosted gathering. I don’t do formal introductions or ice-breakers because I want to keep the vibe quiet and productive. Instead, I’m providing a guaranteed, comfortable space where you can focus, but still feel the presence of others.

It’s a great way to meet friends naturally. I (the organizer) usually go there on Sundays to work as well, so I might see you there! Feel free to say hi, but there’s no pressure to socialize if you are in the zone. Come for the space—any connection is a bonus!

How this works

This is a very chill, unhosted gathering. I don’t host there but
Instead, I’m providing a seating guaranteed, comfortable friendly space where you can focus, and also have a chance to meet others who also work remotely.

It’s a great way to meet friends naturally.

About the meetup:

If you’re traveling, working remotely, freelancing, or new in Taipei,
you probably know this feeling:
You’re open to meeting new people.

You just don’t feel like walking up to strangers and starting a conversation.
Same here.

Both the AURA founder Hein and I are pretty introverted.
Sometimes we simply don’t enjoy very loud social environments.
Sometimes we want to:

meet new friends naturally

sit quietly and do our own thing

or just be around people without pressure

So we designed this.

### 🎯 What might happen (and what might not)

Let’s be honest:

You might meet someone interesting

You might make a new friend

You might just hang out quietly and go home

There’s no guarantee.
A bit of it is timing.
A bit of it is luck.
That’s part of the fun.

### 🕹 How it works (this is the game part)

This is a no-host event.
No one will introduce you. No icebreakers.
Instead, we use AURA — and using it is required.
When you arrive:

Sign in at the venue

Scan the QR code to join the event on AURA

See who else is here

From there, it’s up to you:

Send someone a message on AURA

Wait and see who messages you

Or don’t message anyone at all

Think of it like a light social game:
low risk, optional moves, no penalties.
