What we’re about
This is a social bicycling group. TeamNakagawa is a private group of bicyclists of a very wide range of fitness. From a flat 10 mile (1 hour) pathway ride to a full 100 mile summer century ride, we've got them all. This group started as a training ride group for a charity ride to support the American Diabetes Association. Now it's a social/fitness group supporting a healthier lifestyle, both in mind and in body. Truth is, it's a motivator for me (Captain Kent) to commit to riding every weekend, regardless of the weather!
Starting in March, we will begin to have weekly Saturday morning bike rides, supporting easy, 10-20 mile rides from Champoeg State Park (Newberg) or Lewis and Clark State Park (Troutdale OR). Our rides are self supporting - riders are expected to bring their own water, snacks, repair kits, etc. New riders will learn "the basics" from the experienced riders who are happy to share their knowledge.
As bike season truly begins in May, we'll start posting event rides hosted by the various bike club and charities in the Portland OR area. As our membership grows, all members will have the ability to post rides in different areas of town (such as Champoeg State Park, or the Banks-Vernonia trail).
This meetup costs $25 a month to run. Although I don't charge membership dues, I will call upon the membership to donate to various worthy charities that I support during the course of the season instead. It's all honor system, with my gratitude.

From the organizer's website. Event registration required.
The Lebanon Strawberry Century is not just a cycling event; it's a celebration of community and philanthropy. At the heart of this event continues a commitment to give back, modeled after the generous philanthropy projects the original Strawberry Century event supported over the last three decades. Over the years, the Santiam Spokes Bicycle club supported various initiatives aimed at benefiting the local community, with a particular focus on promoting bike safety among younger students.
One of the most remarkable aspects of this year's Lebanon Strawberry Century is that this year, some of the students who were once beneficiaries of these initiatives are returning to the event as participants and volunteers themselves.

Now is the time to act, and together, we can accelerate progress.
How It Works:
To make the most of this experience, we ask that every cyclist prepares physically and commits to raising the fundraising minimum of $250 (or more!) to support our mission. Once you reach the fundraising minimum, you'll receive a code for free registration to ORbike's Pedal Petal event. At the event, CFF cyclists will be treated to a VIP experience.
