  • TEDx Salon - Feeling Alive

    TEDx Salon - Feeling Alive

The social hub Restaurant & Bar, Hoefkade 11, 2526 BN Den Haag, Países Baixos,, Den Haag, NL

This is a paid event (10 eur), please purchase the ticket on Eventbrite to save your spot.

When was the last time you truly felt alive? Not comfortable. Not distracted. But fully present—energized, aware, maybe even a little uncomfortable.
Many of us spend our lives trying to avoid discomfort. And in doing so, we may also be avoiding the very experiences that make life feel real.

    In this Salon, we explore:
    - The relationship between discomfort and aliveness
    - Why we avoid certain experiences—and what it costs us
    - How uncertainty, risk, and vulnerability shape a meaningful life

It’s about reconnecting with what makes you feel awake, present, and engaged.
Expect a slightly different kind of evening—one that invites curiosity, reflection, and maybe a small step outside your comfort zone.

    Our Guests
    Wiebe Wakker
In 2016 he set out a journey to drive an electric car from the Netherlands to Australia without money. A nearly impossible idea. 😮
He depended entirely on strangers for food, electricity and a place to sleep. Over the next three years he travelled 95,000 kilometres through 33 countries. What did he learn about "feeling alive"?

    Eldin Fajkovic
Eldin came to the Netherlands as a refugee from Yugoslavia when he was almost four years old. For years he felt tension between the cultures. Eventually, that gave way to something else entirely: a sense of belonging that had nothing to do with nationality at all. Eldin found what it means to feel truly alive through practices of connection, with the natural world, and with community.

    Manon van der Horst
Manon is a part of the community "Yes Theory". Her motto is: Seek Discomfort. With an open mind and a curious mindset, she continues to challenge herself, get out of the comfort zone, develop, and get the most out of life.

This is not a workshop with answers. It’s a space to think, feel, and connect—with yourself and others navigating similar questions.

    This event is 2 hours + drink/networking.

  • TEDxThe Hague Main Event - Beyond Uncertainty

TEDxThe Hague Main Event - Beyond Uncertainty

Louwman Museum, Leidsestraatweg 57, 2594 The Hague · 7,0 km, den haag, NL

This is a paid event, you need to purchase the ticket on Eventbrite to save your spot.

The future isn’t something we wait for, it’s what we shape together.
When uncertainty has become the backdrop of everyday life, many of us are searching for a steadier way to move through the world.

From rapid technological shifts and geopolitical tension to climate disruption, economic volatility, and social change, many of the systems we once relied on feel less predictable than ever. The question is no longer whether uncertainty will shape our lives, but how we choose to respond to it.

In a world that rewards fast certainty and sharp opinions, TEDxTheHague’s Beyond Uncertainty won’t pretend that everything is fine or offer simplistic optimism. Instead, it will invite you to:

    • Explore what comes after the moment we admit we don’t have all the answers.
    • Move beyond paralysis, polarization, and fear into clarity, courage, and possibility.
    • Ask thoughtful questions, experiment and expand what’s possible.

At TEDxTheHague, we believe the future isn’t something we wait for - it’s something we shape together. This event brings together people who are learning not just to find balance and peace in unpredictable times, but to grow because of them, turning uncertainty into a space for creativity, courage, and renewal.

Join us to explore how learning to thrive in the unknown can open the door to a more grounded, courageous, and meaningful future.

NOTE: Doors open at 13:30 and the event starts at 14:00.
