What we’re about
A COMMUNITY FOR ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY.
Welcome to The Art of Photography International! Our purpose is to spark creativity, open new doors, incite discussion and learn from each other in a positive and sharing environment. The program is designed to facilitate the merging of the principles of art and graphic design with excellent camera craft. To take each one of us no matter what level of experience to places, levels and worlds that are out of our comfort zone. Our critique programs, our photo shoots and our educational sessions are free. Your submissions for discussion are for you to choose without regard to theme or genre. However, because we are a public group, we ask that you refrain from submitting photos of nudes or with sexual content. We recommend uploading photos at 72 dpi, with the longer side 2048 pixels.
To cultivate artistic discernment and good sportsmanship and encourage focused creativity, we hold a monthly themed, contest judged by founder Jack Wild. He selects one winner and several honorable mentions. Every event photo shoot has a challenge with one winner.
The Art Of Photography began as a Museum Art School program in 2002 and has expanded to over 16,000 members worldwide, so many of whom have grown into exceptional photographers that are hugely represented in international award shows. We are truly excited for your participation and look forward to your development as creative and artistic photographers.

See all- Join Us at the Norton Museum for a Photo Shoot/Photography Exhibitions/MoreNorton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach, FL
Exposure to talented artists' work can expand our own photographic artistry. Additionally, art museums provide environments to take creative, well-composed, candid shots of visitors, docents, and guards. The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach has a permanent outdoor sculpture garden. However, the main reason for this Meetup event is to provide indoor photo opportunities, view two photography exhibitions and other displays, and beat the heat.
A list of exhibitions that will be on display when we visit The Norton appears below:
-
"Blur / Obscure / Distort: Photography and Perception"
All of the photographs in this exhibition artistically and sometimes subversively use movement and defocused lenses for visual effect. -
"Veiled Presence: The Hidden Mothers and Sara VanDerBeek"
Contemporary artist/photographer Sara VanDerBeek addresses motherhood, labor, and grief and reveals behind-the-scenes support that mothers and caretakers provide. -
"The Virtue of Vice: The Art of Social Commentary"
Artists use skill, wit, satire, and harsh criticism in commentaries about society's dirty little secrets: poverty, sexual exploitation, drinking, gambling, polarization of the classes, etc. -
"Laddie John Dill: Eastern Standard Time"
Laddie John Dill is prominent in the California Light and Space Movement. His immersive multi-sensory installation is a large sandscape with a vibrant blue glow from argon-filled glass tubes that paints the gallery. Light and space converge to reflect the passage of time, cyclic and seasonal phenomena, earthly and celestial rhythms, perception, and luminosity. -
"Artists' Jewelry: From Cubism to Pop, the Diane Venet Collection"
This exhibition showcases 150 pieces of jewelry by 140 famous 20th and 21st century artists, including Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Man Ray, and Salvador Dalí. Related paintings, sculptures, works on paper, photographs, and a sound-based artwork accompany the art in miniature.

Join Lynne Mass on Wednesday, August 13 at 7 pm as she demonstrates a Very Basic Introduction to Lightroom. With this introduction, you will be able to immediately edit your photos with or without the use of additional editing software because the basics of Lightroom are easier to use than some other software.
What is Lightroom? Adobe Lightroom is a cloud-based creative image organization and image manipulation software that provides everything users need to create, edit, organize, store and share their photos across any device. It is a photo editing suite for making basic adjustments, such as tweaking exposure and contrast, cropping, or fixing images by eradicating spots and flaws.
Lightroom allows for easy cataloging and searching for photos and gives you all the desktop editing tools you need to bring out the best in your photos. Punch up colors, make dull-looking shots vibrant, remove distracting objects, and straighten skewed shots. Easily organize all your photos.
You don’t have to take notes if you follow the presentation by downloading the handout. Click on the link below:
