The Blackstone Poets Society is a friendly poetry space where people from all backgrounds come together to write, share, and enjoy the creative process.
Each gathering uses simple, engaging prompts and timed writing to help you get words on the page. You don't need to be an experienced poet—and you don't have to share anything you write unless you want to.
There is no pressure to perform, no harsh criticism, and no expectation to be perfect. Just creativity, curiosity, conversation, and the chance to discover your own voice.
Along the way, we'll share poems, stories, ideas, and a few laughs while building a welcoming local community of writers.
Come as you are. Bring a notebook. Leave with a poem.

The Blackstone Poets Society is a welcoming poetry writing and sharing group for adults 18 and older.
We gather on the second and 4th Wednesday of the month at the Millbury Public Library to write, listen, share, and connect through poetry. Each meeting includes simple writing prompts designed to spark creativity, followed by opportunities to share your work in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
You don’t need to be published, experienced, or even consider yourself a poet. Whether you’ve been writing for years or have never written a poem before, you are welcome here.
There is no pressure to share, no harsh critique, and no expectation to have the “right” kind of poem. We believe every voice has something worth saying.
Come as you are. Bring your words. Find your voice.
