What we’re about
Calling all Glaswegian nerds and geeks!
We're looking to hold a monthly get together in Glasgow for like-minded individuals who enjoy all things geeky - Sci-fi, Doctor Who, Star Trek (and Wars!), Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, anime, cosplay, comics, board games etc.
The idea is to meet up, have a drink or two, get to know each other and make some new friends in and around the city.
Follow us on the Fediverse/Mastodon at https://glasgow.social/tags/geeksocial (Don't know what that is? It's open source decentralised social media - no corporations involved! Sign up at https://glasgow.social - or any other site - it's all interconnected - like the internet should be!)
We also have a Matrix chat room at #geek:glasgow.social (you can join with this invite link: https://glasgow.social/matrix).
The Rules

Technology Meetup - Beer and tech chat! (First Fridays)
The Gamer Club, 153 Bath Lane, Glasgow, GBThe Glasgow Tech Social Meetup - this is regular event on the first Friday of the month where we catch up over a beer and talk all things tech. We do not judge anyone and everyone has something to contribute, no matter their level of expertise. There are no particular topics or activities set for these meetings, and each one of us is responsible for making them interesting, whether in the form of intelligent discussions or exchange of knowledge. Anything goes.
It's normally listed on Open Source Glasgow, but there is such an overlap of interest based on the group members, I thought I'd post it here too, members of 2600 Glasgow (hacker/infosec) and Open Source Glasgow (linux/open source) will also be attending.
Note the venue is unlicenced, but you can BYOB (bring your own beer or wine - it's encouraged!), though there are free teas and coffees too.
As always, remember to join our Matrix chat network - there are rooms there for tech, open source, coding and infosec. Invite link: https://glasgow.social/matrix Joining helps us build the community and stay connected after the event.
