The Madison Business Collective is a free in-person business networking group in Madison, WI. Everyone is welcome here - we are open to small business owners, creative side-hustlers, and anyone considering starting a business. We host two meet-ups per month at various locations around Madison.
All of our meet-ups are free, in-person events for small business owners or people who are about to start their small business. Our topics often focus on the creative side of running a business - marketing, messaging, content, social media, and more. These are collaborative, work-shop style meetings. Everyone is welcome to give their input and share their experiences. You can bring just yourself, your computer, a notebook, or whatever you need to get the most out of it! Each meeting has time for networking and socializing. RSVPs are highly encouraged, but not required.

In this hands on session, we'll work on the part that matters most: saying clearly who you help and why you're different. Bring your laptop. You'll leave with a rewritten headline, a sharper About section, and a simple plan for what to post so people remember you.
Colleen Arturi is a brand strategist and founder of The Story Shoppe. She works with small business owners, founders, and independent experts who can talk about their work all day but go blank when it comes to their own story. Before going out on her own, she spent 20+ years shaping brands at agencies like Fallon and BBDO, working with IKEA and IDEO, and growing Threadless's creative community from 700K to 2 million members. She recently moved to Madison and is excited to meet the people building businesses here.
