### What to Expect at Side-Eye Sundays
Big feelings. Fresh air. Questionable social skills. Great company. ๐
Welcome to The Side-Eye Society, where dogs don't have to be best friends to learn how to coexist!
Our weekly structured pack walks combine exercise, confidence building, a little teamwork, and a whole lot of community. We're here to help dogs navigate the world without feeling the need to have an opinion about absolutely everything. Yes, even that suspicious squirrel.
### Here's the Scoop!
๐ Location: Del Rey Lagoon Park
๐ฃ Time: 8:30 AM โ 9:30 AM
๐พ Meeting Spot: The parking lot
๐ Find Me: I'll be the girl in the black Barkitecture LA sweater and jeans, probably pacing around before class like I've got somewhere important to be. Spoiler alert: I do. I'm waiting for a bunch of dogs with big feelings. ๐
### What We're Getting Into
๐พ Walk With Purpose: We're not just logging miles! We'll work on calm, structured walking while giving each dog the space they need to succeed.
๐พ The Pack in Motion: Think choreographed movement, but with dogs who have opinions! We'll work through coordinated patterns, rhythmic movement, changes of direction, figure-8s, and controlled passes around other dogs. It's all about communication, focus, and learning to move together as a team.
๐พ Confidence in Motion: Little challenges, big victories! We'll help dogs build confidence and learn to navigate distractions at their own pace.
๐พ No Forced Friendships: Your dog doesn't need a social calendar. Learning to coexist without saying hello is a win!
๐พ Big Feelings Happen: Barking, excitement, and the occasional dramatic outburst are part of life. We focus on helping dogs recover, refocus, and keep moving forward.
๐พ Safety First: Secure, non-retractable leashes, properly fitted equipment, water, and tasty treats are a must. Personal space is sacred, and we follow the walk leaders' guidance.
๐พ Find Your People: Meet fellow dog lovers, share stories, laugh through the chaos, and celebrate the little wins together.
Important: Dogs with bite histories or significant reactivity require a prior in-person meeting and approval before joining group walks.
We're not chasing perfect obedience. We're building confidence, better communication, and a community where dogs and humans can grow together.
Come walk. Learn a little. Laugh a lot. And let your dog judge everyone from a respectful distance. ๐

Pack Walk Safety Protocol
Good dogs. Big feelings. Zero judgment. But safety? Non-negotiable.
We love dogs with personality, but structured pack walks require teamwork, awareness, and a few ground rules to keep everyone safe and successful.
๐พ Respect the Bubble: Maintain a minimum of 10โ12 feet between dogs unless instructed otherwise by the walk leader. Some dogs may need more space, and that's perfectly okay!
๐พ No Nose-to-Nose Greetings: We're here to practice calm coexistence, not speed dating. No on-leash greetings, forced interactions, or allowing dogs to approach one another without permission.
๐พ Equipment Matters: Properly fitted martingale collars, slip leads, prong collars, and electronic collars are permitted. All equipment must be appropriate for the dog, securely fitted, and used responsibly. Handlers must already be familiar with their equipment. No harnesses unless medically necessary and discussed with the walk leader beforehand.
๐พ Leashes Required: All dogs must remain on secure, non-retractable leashes throughout the walk. No off-leash activity.
๐พ Stay in Your Lane: Follow the walk leader's instructions regarding spacing, formations, directional changes, and passing exercises. Please don't move closer to another dog without direction.
๐พ Know Your Dog: Watch for signs of stress, discomfort, or overstimulation. If your dog needs more distance or a break, speak up! There's no shame in stepping away.
๐พ Big Feelings, Bigger Growth: Not all stress is bad! A little healthy, manageable stress (eustress) can build confidence, resilience, and new skills. We encourage dogs to work through appropriate challenges while remaining able to engage, learn, and recover. The goal is to stretch their comfort zones, not overwhelm them. If your dog is struggling to recover or showing signs of distress, create distance and reset.
๐พ Prior Approval Required: Dogs with bite histories or significant reactivity must meet with the walk leader in person and receive approval before attending a group walk.
๐พ Be a Good Human: Respect other handlers, follow safety instructions, and keep the experience positive for everyone. Dogs and handlers who cannot safely participate may be asked to step away or leave.
Remember: We're not here to force friendships or chase perfect obedience. We're here to build confidence, communication, and community.
And please, don't be the person who says, "Don't worry, he's friendly!" while your dog charges into someone else's personal space. We love you, but no. ๐
