Volunteer-Run & Community-Powered
Our group is run by volunteer event organizers who plan and host activities in their own free time—doing things they genuinely enjoy and want to share with others. Events are created when and how our organizers are able, so schedules and offerings may vary.
If you’re interested in helping plan, host, or support events, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to us via direct message or email to get involved.
Cancellations, No-Shows & Communication Policy
If you can’t attend, please update your RSVP to “Not Attending” as soon as possible—ideally at least 2 hours before the event.
We have a three-strike policy for no-shows or lack of communication. After three instances, members may be removed. Excessive cancellations, even with notice, may also lead to removal.

Hey Wildlife Allies! It’s time to celebrate us! The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is rolling out the red carpet for its members, and what better way to enjoy the Zoo than with a group of fellow animal lovers?
As the sun goes down and the crowds thin out, we’ll have exclusive access to the grounds. Whether you want to see the new Elephant Valley, catch the pandas during their evening routine, or just enjoy a cocktail with a view of the savanna, this is the night to do it! We will be meeting at the Front Entrance (near the bronze Lion statue) to gather the group before heading inside.I do have a membership that allows me to bring a guest - if you like to join me and don't have a membership it will be $40 and will benefit our group fund.
🎟️ Essential Info (Read Carefully!):
- Tickets: This is a Members-Only event. You MUST reserve your free ticket in advance via the Eventbrite link. These sell out fast, so grab yours now!
- Membership: Ensure your SDZWA membership is active and bring your physical or digital membership card for entry.
🚗 Parking & Arrival:
- Cost: FREE for Members! While the Zoo implemented paid parking ($16) for the general public in 2026, all SDZWA adult members still receive complimentary parking.
- Action Required: Make sure you have registered your license plate through the Member Parking Portal before you arrive to ensure your parking is validated automatically.
- The Lot: The main Zoo lot is first-come, first-served. Since this is a special event, aim to arrive 15–20 minutes early to find a spot!
🎒 What to Bring:
- Your phone/camera for those golden hour animal shots.
- Comfortable walking shoes (we’ll be covering some hilly ground!).
- A light jacket (it can get chilly in Balboa Park once the sun sets).
- Your Wild Perks discount! Don’t forget members get 10–20% off food and souvenirs throughout the park.
