What we’re about
Looking for a break from the daily grind? Welcome to the Dunedin-Palm Harbor Video Game Book Club, a laid-back community for gamers who want to unwind and connect through the immersive world of single-player games. Each month, we select a game that everyone can enjoy at their own pace, and at the end of the month, we meet up in person at local spots—whether it's a laid-back brewery, a cozy coffee shop, or a scenic park.
Our group is geared toward a mature crowd, especially those in their late 20s to 30s who are looking for a fun, low-pressure way to escape from the routine of the 9-to-5. Whether you're a lifelong gamer or just getting back into it, this is a space to chat, share experiences, and explore the art of gaming with like-minded people.
As the group grows, we're planning to launch a Discord server for more ongoing conversations, game recommendations, and staying connected between meetups. If you're ready to relax, dive into a great game, and enjoy some great company, we’d love to have you!

DiscordThis month we’re playing Ori and the Blind Forest — a side-scrolling, soul-touching, platform-jumping, forest-exploring masterpiece that’s about 8 hours long, which is just enough time to finish it and still get 8 hours of sleep if you're a wizard. It’s beautiful, it’s fun, and yes — it might make you accidentally develop a deep emotional connection with a glowing forest creature. Nature, am I right?
Available on:
Xbox One / Series X|S
Nintendo Switch
PC
On game Game Pass as well
You’ll bounce, dash, climb, and probably yell “wait, how do I get up THERE?” at least five times. Classic Metroidvania vibes.
Meetup Info:
Sunday, June 22nd at 2 PM
Location: HOB Brewing Co. (Downtown Dunedin)Bonus Round (literally):
I’ll be there around 12:30 PM grabbing something tasty from the food trucks, so come hang if you want to snack, chill, and discuss important philosophical questions like “is jumping off walls a valid life skill?”Oh — and I’ll have Ori-themed trivia questions ready to go during the meetup. There are no prizes... except honor and possibly a high five so powerful it echoes through the forest.
HOB is an outdoor spot, and while they’ve got shade and fans, we are still in Florida where the sun is a fireball with no chill. Dress cool, hydrate like a pro, and maybe bring a hat that screams “I game, but also I sun-safe.”
Can’t wait to see y’all there! Let’s talk games, eat stuff off trucks, and try not to melt! Should be a fun day!
