About us

Healthy Walks • Friendly People • Rain or Shine
Based in beautiful North Vancouver, WALKSTARS brings people together to walk for health, friendship, and a little extra motivation. Our group is primarily made up of active walkers aged 40 to 70+ who meet every Sunday—no matter the weather—to explore scenic, easy-to-moderate trails. We are not fitness experts; we are a close community of people who love to walk and connect.
🌲 Our Walkstars Philosophy
Walkstars is a tight-knit, high-trust community, rather than a large public fitness class. To protect trail safety and maintain an intimate environment where every face matters, we enforce a strict 20-person cap per walk.
Because space is highly limited and we are not actively recruiting large numbers, we are selective about our intake. Our volunteer organizer reviews applications in careful batches every few weeks. We prioritize people who are looking for consistent attendance and a genuine community connection.
🎒 What to Expect on a Walk

  • The Pace: Easy to moderate (approx. 7 km / 2–3 hours). We are walkers, not intense hikers.
  • The Trails: Scenic North Shore routes, always operating rain or shine.
  • Social Time: We love to wrap up our outings with an optional social coffee time near a local café!
  • Giving Back: We proudly make optional donations to support Covenant House, a local youth-focused charity.
  • Walkstars Abroad: Inspired by our love of travel, our community frequently organizes optional group trips and cruises together!

⚠️ Please Note Before Applying
When you click "Join," you will be asked to fill out our mandatory screening questions. Because we prioritize reliable attendance and a close group culture, one-word, blank, or generic applications will be gently declined.
Our full, detailed 19-point Member Policy Handbook—covering our strict RSVP courtesy rules, dog/child guidelines, gear recommendations, and liability waivers—is fully available to all approved members inside our private group space.
We walk these beautiful trails on the ancestral, unceded lands of the səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Peoples, and we honour their presence past and present.

Warmly,
Dawn & Patrick (Paddy) Moore & the Walkstars Team
