Weekend Hikers and Beyond, WeHike.org, is a volunteer-led group passionate about hiking in SLO County and the Central Coast of California. In spite of our name, we host day hikes on weekends and weekdays at varying skill levels.

See all- Avila Overlook HikeParking | Pismo Preserve Trail, Pismo Beach, CA
Our hike starts on the north end of Discovery Trail where we will hike up, up, up, Panhandle Trail to the Avila Overlook. Once at the top, we hope to have sweeping ocean views, unless the weather brings us late afternoon fog. This will be an out and back trail, less than 5 miles, with an elevation gain of about 900 feet. Link to trail status via the Pismo Preserve's Instagram acct.
Essentials:
- Meet at the south end of the parking area trailhead near the restrooms and picnic tables.
- 💛 Boots on the trail at 5:00 sharp, so come early to stretch.
- Bring a hat, layers, water & shoes with good tread.

- Mid-week Evening Hike - Johnson Ranch LoopJohnson Ranch Trailhead, San Luis Obispo, CA
Join us for an evening hike on the beautiful Johnson Ranch loop trail which is comprised of rolling grassy hills, serpentine rocks, oak trees some moderatately challenging ascents and descents. There can be loose gravel on the trail, so shoes with good tread are recommended.

Optional Concert in the Plaza: After the hike, join us at the Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo to listen and dance to B & The Hive from 6:00-8:00.
Join us for a late afternoon hike on the Spring-to Spring trail at the Pismo Preserve. This trail goes through the middle section of the preserve and will take us about 1.5 hours to complete.
