Women Backpacking Together

This is a group for female backpackers only and geared toward, but not limited to, first timers that want explore and enjoy nature in a safe and comfortable all female group setting (having said that, we will occasionally invite the men/boys). Currently we are on a donation based membership fee. Please consider donating now or upon your first RSVP to help keep us active.

While this is primarily a 'backpacking' group, we do plan day hikes as well as an occasional kayak/sup and car camping trips, bike rides, wine/beer/spirits tasting and fun runs.

For our safety and yours, we ask that all profile pictures be of the member, not flowers, pets, cartoon characters, etc. This helps us identify each other at our meet ups and if in an emergency situation, we can provide a visual ID to to the authorities. If your photo cannot be identifiable when we print it out, we will ask you for a new one, if you do not comply, you not be able to attend a meetup. *If you have a delicate situation, please private message me.

We communicate via the meetup messaging and email so please check them periodically, especially when you sign up for an event.

The organizers do not, in any way, claim to be professional guides or otherwise licensed or certified to provide any services. By joining this group and participating in posted events, you are using your own judgement and taking responsibility for your own safety. You should also be self sufficient as much as possible, however, because we are geared to first-timers, PLEASE ask for gear suggestions, help with use of gear PRIOR to an event. We are all happy to help.
