Women in Business Networking Lunch

Thu, Aug 6, 2:00 AM
From Melbourne Women in Business

# Melbourne Women in Business Launch Hosted by Paulina Xerri (BAMM Coach) and Kathy Uhlik (Lumina) ### The Confidence Gap Keeping Smart Women Playing Small You're invited to the official launch of the Melbourne Women in Business Network. If you've ever found yourself questioning your abilities, holding back from opportunities, overthinking your next move, or waiting until you feel "ready" before taking action, you're not alone. The truth is that most smart, capable women aren't held back by a lack of talent, knowledge, or ambition. They're held back by a confidence gap. A gap between who they are today and the version of themselves who confidently speaks up, takes action, backs themselves, and creates the success they truly want. Join us for an inspiring lunch designed to bring together ambitious women who are ready to grow their businesses, expand their networks, and have meaningful conversations about leadership, confidence, visibility, and personal growth. During this event you'll: ✨ Connect with like-minded women in business ✨ Build genuine relationships and new opportunities ✨ Learn why confidence is often the missing piece behind business growth ✨ Discover practical strategies to stop second-guessing yourself and start taking bold action ✨ Leave feeling inspired, empowered, and clear on your next step Whether you're a business owner, entrepreneur, coach, consultant, freelancer, or professional woman with big goals, this event is designed to help you step out of your own way and into your next level. This is more than a networking lunch. It's the beginning of a community where ambitious women support one another, share opportunities, and grow together. Come as you are. Leave with new connections, fresh perspectives, and the confidence to play bigger. Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot today. Venue TBC based on numbers but it will be in Melbourne's CBD.

People: the missing line in the project plan

People: the missing line in the project plan

Thu, Jul 9, 7:30 AM
From Melbourne Business Agility Meetup
4.7

Some work is well suited to a project format. This 9th July, Florin Pintilie will share a project manager’s hard‑earned lessons from years of navigating real‑world delivery environments, with special focus on what makes or breaks a project: people. You'll learn where people have an outsized relationship to project success, and project failure. The opens a conversation about how to strengthen your awareness, leadership, and decision‑making around the people who ultimately determine whether a project thrives or collapses. You'll be invited to explore people‑driven project success, reflect on your own practices, and consider practical ways to elevate the human side of your professional world. About this month's presenter, Florin Pintilie. He has spent twenty-something years in the IT world, starting as a software developer and moving through an assortment of IT professional flavours (tech lead, business analyst, system analyst...) with the foremost focus on the bitter-sweet project management side of things. Florin is genuinely passionate about technology projects. Things move fast, the landscape keeps shifting, and he loves the constant challenge to adapt, learn, and innovate. Along the way, he's probably read more psychology books than project management books, because it turns out humans are tricky (and beautiful) creatures—and if you want to get a great project outcome and experience, you need to invest far more energy in understanding the people behind them. As he shares some of the lessons picked up over the years, the hope is to hallenge you to a dialogue that has us all walking away with some new ideas. More on Florin here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/florin-pintilie-11825272/ Thanks to TeamForm, our event sponsor for providing a great place to meet and refreshments. Look at teamform for visualising your delivery teaming structures whether they be persistent or project based, and for desigining and operating the workforce behind them - given the work, aligning the right roles today and into the future. https://teamform.co/

📚 #InPursuit – A Book Club for Builders, Thinkers, and Doers

📚 #InPursuit – A Book Club for Builders, Thinkers, and Doers

Sat, Jul 18, 12:30 AM
From The Entrepreneur Club (Melbourne)
4.5

📚 #InPursuit is a book club for entrepreneurs, creatives, and curious minds who know personal growth fuels business growth. **See a lot of RSPVPs and wonder how it works? We'll break up into groups of 6-8 to share our insights, then swap groups after 30-45min so you can maximise learning from everybody!** *Note: this even is not organised by or affiliated with The State Library of Victoria* **That's what #InPursuit is all about** It’s not a traditional book club, it’s a space for people who are actively designing a better life through the pursuit of business, creativity, and personal growth. This event is for anyone #InPursuit of better business, life and relationships. Instead of reading the same book, we each come prepared to share one powerful insight from something we’ve read in the past 3-months. Anything non-fiction that’s moved us forward. Whether it’s a mindset shift, a productivity system, a new philosophy, or just a truth that punched us in the gut. This is a place to unpack it together and hear what others are learning too. We’re not just here to *read*. We’re here to *integrate*. Because when we grow, our business and our lives grow too. **🔍 Why Join? You'll leave with:** * 5–10 fresh insights from books you may never have picked up * Deeper awareness of how others think, lead, and evolve * New connections with people walking a similar path toward purpose, results, and impact This isn’t a lecture. It’s a room full of people building themselves while they build the thing. **📖 How It Works** First time? No pressure to share, just come curious. We'll break up into groups of 6-8 and share our insights, then swap groups so you can maximise the learning! Returning? Bring one idea you’ve read about in the last 3-months and be ready to speak on: 1. What did you learn? 2. How did it shift your perspective about the world or yourself? 3. How has it changed the way you show up or behave? We keep it structured, but flexible. After sharing, we open up to Q&A, personal stories, challenges, and deep dives. Some of the best insights come from the conversations *after* the share. **🧠 Who This Is For** * Entrepreneurs or side-hustlers finding their footing * Business owners, and doers building toward better * Curious minds who love ideas but care more about action * People tired of shallow conversations and hungry for growth If you’re working on something—or becoming someone—this space is for you. It’s a practice ground for people who want to grow forward. We’re all #InPursuit of mastery, momentum, and the kind of success that starts from within. **Map on how to get there** We're in the Create Quarter on the ground level (back right of the Quad as you enter from Swanson St). We'll likely be on a long table together. https://www.slv.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/SLV-EnglishMap_Jan25.pdf

Fundamentals of Business Management

Fundamentals of Business Management

Tue, Jul 7, 5:00 AM
From FREE Life-Improvement Educational Talks!
3.4

Hello everyone ,let me start by giving you one of my favourite quotes, "Success is an organised activity". Today we are going to be talking about Business Management . Business management at its core involves the actions of planning, organising, leadership and understanding the difference between good and bad control. We are going to be taking a look at these aspects and see how they fit into your business. An understanding and mastery of the concepts will give you an edge over others in your industry and set you up on the road to success. If for any reason you can not make it contact us on 0405 648 822, and we will organize a free one-on-one briefing with you I hope to see you there ! Cheers Tim and Pam
