The new one is saying what to build clearly enough that an agent builds the right thing. This is the shift behind spec-driven development. Instead of prompting an agent and hoping, teams write a spec first: the behavior, the constraints, and what "good" looks like. The agent builds against it. In a world of disposable code, a long-lived spec becomes the artifact that matters most. Product managers have always turned ambiguity into something a team can ship. The PRD is used to align people.
