SF: Fort Funston Sunset Hike from Lake Merced (3 mi)

SF: Fort Funston Sunset Hike from Lake Merced (3 mi)

Tue, Jul 14, 1:00 AM
From Lake Merced: Coastal Hikes & Runs (SF)
4.8

This 3 mile (total) hike entails beautiful views of Lake Merced, the ocean and coastline, San Bruno Mountain, the surrounding hills, and even the Golden Gate Bridge on clear days. Meet at the picnic tables between the Fitness Court and the Lake Merced Bridge on John Muir Drive at 6:00 p.m. We will set off shortly after, walking toward Fort Funston to catch the sunset (or to admire the fog). The route that I will be leading does not involve hiking down to the shoreline. The weather can be warm and sunny or cold and windy, so it's best to dress in layers. También se habla español.

But of course, feel free to simply sing too! **What to Bring**: * Layers! It’s often chilly in the mornings. * A blanket or something comfy to sit on (we also have extra stools/blankets, so no sweat if you don’t have one) * Water, snacks for the craft making portion if you’d like, and anything else that makes you feel comfortable *This event is kid-friendly, pet-friendly, and 100% inclusive.* All voices and levels are welcome—no experience needed, and no pressure to be perfect. **About the Host:** Hi! I’m Ryan. I grew up in a hippie tradition of folk music in Marin, and sharing simple songs communally is deeply important to me. I've been a regular member under the previous organizer for almost a year, bringing friends and making more. Singing in the Park, also known as the Community Sing, is a space where people could come together and sing without worrying about finances, judgment, or hitting every note just right. This is a space for **messy, joyful singing, and intentional community**. We meet every Second Sunday of the Month at 11:00AM in Mother’s Meadow, come say hi!

**RSVP via:** https://app.gistirl.com/event-details/BpsprJ25dWQvNJGDoEhC **Early Bird Discounts | More $ Later** Hey night market fans! Come soak in the glow of the string lights, the smell of sizzling street food, and the heavy bass of live beats right by the dance floor. Join me for an easy evening where we spend the first hour chatting one-on-one through the Gist IRL app, and then head out in small groups to grab some food, dance to Bhangra beats, and make some real connections along the way. We'll kick things off with fast, friendly conversations. The app handles all the pairings, so you always know exactly who you're talking to and can just focus on breaking the ice with folks from all different backgrounds. Once we wrap up the rounds, you'll select the people you vibed with the most, and we'll group up to dive into the night market. By the time you hit the dance floor, you've already got a fun crew to share the street food and live beats with. We'll be splitting into groups of 4-6, giving you a ready-made squad to grab some spicy skewers or a cold drink before migrating to the music. Whether these guys become your go-to night market and dancing squad or it's just a fantastic evening out under the stars, you're going to have a blast. The Plan: - 6:00PM: Check-In. Follow the link to set up your quick profile on your phone. - 6:05PM - 7:25PM: One-on-One Rounds. The app pairs you up for some fun, focused chats. Find out who shares your love for vibrant cultural festivals, pulsing Punjabi beats, and delicious global street food. - 7:25PM+: Group Up & Explore. Reconnect with the people you clicked with, form a tight crew of 4-6, grab some food from the trucks, snag a drink from the outdoor bars, and head over to the dance floor together. The goal of the night is to actually explore the night market and dance with awesome new people, bypassing the usual small talk entirely. You might just meet the perfect crew for exploring future night markets, outdoor festivals, and dance events together. And when the night is over, you can easily keep the momentum going by messaging your new friends right through the app without ever needing to swap phone numbers. I can't wait to share some amazing food and hit the dance floor with you all. **RSVP via:** https://app.gistirl.com/event-details/BpsprJ25dWQvNJGDoEhC **Early Bird Discounts | More $ Later**

Summer Doubles Season

Summer Doubles Season

Thu, Jul 9, 2:00 AM
From TennisSF.com | The San Francisco Tennis League
4.4

**How does a TennisSF Doubles Season / League run?** We try to run Mixed Doubles Divisions and Non-Mixed Doubles divisions for every season that we kick off. When we don't alway succeed we kick off one large doubles division instead. **We are bringing back Doubles Teammate matching** After taking a year off from connecting players with a Doubles Teammate, we're going to get back to doing it. All teammate matching is done ON KICKOFF DAY so we can have the highest chance of making strong teammate connections. This service will cost $24.95. Note that the league does not initiate COVID precaution rules but as always expects players to be respectful of each other and not play if COVID compromised. **Kickoff Day - July 8th** The **start day** of the season, all the teams are sent a **kickoff email** that contains important information about the league, the link where your league standings and other team contact information is. We **guarantee** 6 teams at your around your teams level, but have been averaging closer to 10+ teams in most cities. The number of different levels we run is solely based upon the number of teams enrolled for the league kickoff. Typically we are trying to run a Lev A Doubles 3.5-4.0+, Lev B Doubles 2.5-3.5, Lev A Mixed Doubles 3.5-4.0+, Lev B Mixed Doubles 2.5-3.5: in most cities. **Your Task - Flexible Scheduling** After this kickoff email is sent, it is the **captain's task to communicate with other captains**. Captains should work with their partners and the other captains to find an agreeable time and location to play the match. While TennisSF.com doesn't mandate your playing schedule, it is recommended that teams schedule at least one match per week. We allow teams to play 1 rematch per season. The regular season is all about playing as much as you can. **Where to Play?** Play at your local free tennis courts, tennis parks, condo courts or tennis clubs. The league strongly suggests that players jointly try to pick a tennis court location convenient to both. We provide an extensive list of [tennis courts](https://www.tennissf.com/TennisCourts), including # of courts, lighting, hitting walls, etc. We strive to keep this list up-to-date. TennisSF.com sets up a must play dates to push players out on the courts. The final deadline is the date marking the end of the season, at which point players with 3-4 (Actually total is specified on the division page) wins will qualify for a post-season playoff to determine the league champion. **[JOIN TODAY](https://www.tennissf.com/join)** Full price is $39.95 for team enrollment or $24.95 for the doubles partner matching to play in a season. Just go to the [Join Page](https://www.tennissf.com/join) and complete the short form. We'd be happy to find you dedicated tennis playing partners.
