**Title:** Quantum-Accelerated Supercomputing **Abstract:** I will give an overview of how quantum computers and classical HPC systems can interact together, and what are the target applications of quantum-accelerated supercomputing identified so far. **Bio:** Dr. Antonio Mezzacapo is currently a Principal Researcher at NVIDIA, where he works as the technical lead for quantum algorithms and quantum-accelerated supercomputing applications. One of his areas of interest is quantum simulations of chemistry and materials science, where he contributed with advancements on quantum algorithms for computing molecular energies, more efficient encodings for fermionic simulations, and experiments that have pushed the frontier of quantum simulations with quantum processors. He is interested in understanding how quantum computers can be optimally coupled with classical high-performance computers, and what are the best algorithms and workflows for quantum-centric supercomputing architectures. More broadly, he is interested in how one can use quantum computers to deliver value in quantum-classical computational workflows. In the past, Dr. Mezzacapo has also worked on the characterization of superconducting quantum processors, modeling of quantum gates, and quantum software. by attending this meetup you are accepting this risk waiver: https://tihny.com/waiver

Build the AI Future : LinuxONE & IBM BOB Hands‑On in NYC

Build the AI Future : LinuxONE & IBM BOB Hands‑On in NYC

Tue, Jul 21, 12:30 PM
From IBM AI - New York City
4.7

Join us in New York City for a full‑day, hands‑on meetup to learn how LinuxONE and zSystems power enterprise AI and secure infrastructure. Through demos and guided labs you’ll build a live, real‑time pipeline and gain practical experience using IBM Bob, which harnesses other LLMs (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) in development and research workflows. Why attend * Real‑time use case: catch suspicious card transactions as they happen — message → service → score → store → alert. * Hands‑on labs: install MQ, run a CICS (Kix) transaction, and create/query Db2 tables step‑by‑step. * LLM integration: use IBM Bob to generate SQL, CICS handlers, and MQ client code; compare alternate approaches from Claude and Anthropic. * Enterprise sessions: LinuxONE fundamentals, Red Hat/OpenShift integration, data serving (DBs & streaming), and ONE Vault security. * Networking: meet engineers, developers, and researchers from NYC. * Logistics: free event, lunch and happy hour provided, limited capacity, bring a laptop. What you’ll do in the lab (simple steps) 1. Set up MQ: create a message channel and send a test transaction. 2. Run the transaction service (CICS): validate messages and forward for scoring. 3. Create Db2 tables: store recent transactions, risk scores, and alerts; seed sample data. 4. Publish streaming events: feed processed transactions to analytics and dashboards. 5. Integrate IBM Bob using multiple LLMs under the hood: generate code, optimize queries, and create operational runbooks. 6. End‑to‑end test: send sample transactions, observe real‑time scoring, and see alerts appear. What you’ll see and learn * Millisecond message flow from simulated checkouts. * Immediate scoring and decisioning with fast Db2 lookups. * Streamed events updating analytics in near real time. * How IBM Bob accelerates development and ops. * A working demo that mirrors a production fraud‑detection pipeline. Who should attend * Developers and engineers new to IBM Z / LinuxONE * Researchers using IBM Bob and other LLMs in experiments or production * IT professionals expanding enterprise infrastructure skills * Students and early‑career technologists interested in mainframe, Linux, or AI Event details * Date: July 21\, 2026 \| 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM * Location: 1 Madison Ave, New York, NY * Format: Arrival & continental breakfast, morning talks, guided labs, happy hour, Q&A * Bonus: 30 days continued access to IBM Bob after the event
