Stories with an Accent: Berkeley Storytelling Open Mic

11/11 — our storytelling open mic, all about wishes and dreams, but stories on any theme are welcome! Everyone is welcome, and ESL speakers are especially encouraged to participate — our host is one of them! Stories are usually 5–7 minutes long, but shorter ones are welcome, too. If you don't feel you have a story to tell, just come! Game Night

**Join us for Game Night at Barebottle Brewing Company at 6:30 pm on the second Monday of each month.** We'll start out with an ice breaker game and then take it from there. Bring any games you’d like to play—ideally group games that are easy to learn and not too long. Everyone is expected to purchase a food and/or drink item to support hte venue that is hosting us. Open Board Gaming !

We play and teach games every Thursday [at](https://www.itsyourmoveoakland.com/)[ Its Your Move Games](https://www.itsyourmoveoakland.com/clubs) until 11pm. The cost is $5. Drop in any time from 7:00pm to 10:30pm or so and you're sure to find something to play! Bring your games from home or use any of the games from our extensive used game library. We often have many tables going on at once for lots of variety. The earlier part of the evening is ideal for families with kids. We play all sorts of board games and card games on Thursday nights, but also: We are at[ 7th West](https://www.7thwest.com/) Every Wednesday night with a nice sized board game library. There is no cover charge there and they have Pin Ball machines a great menu and a large patio for smoking. Got a favorite game you'd like to find others to play? Bring it along! Let us know in advance if possible so we can help with recruiting players. Play Go and Socialize

The SF Go Club is the best place to play Go in the SF Bay Area and the oldest Go club in North America. Started in the 1880s by Japanese sailors looking to play Go, it established itself as an official club in 1935 and incorporated as a non-profit in 1984. The club has a rich community of members and a wonderful club-room filled with equipment, both for playing and teaching. Depending on runtime of games, we could be playing 2-4 games. It's beginner-friendly, so we can teach you how to play the game. We're usually start with Trouble Brewing and play a custom script later as the group gets comfortable. There's space for one circle. Sign-up link will be messaged to attendees when it is available, and added to the event description later. We will be in the back! Stop by the front desk to register and get a name tag.

Board Games at Upcider

Ordering a drink/food item is required. Our hosts are gracious enough to allow us to use their space; we should reciprocate accordingly by supporting their business. **Food & Drinks x Board Games** Join us for a casual evening of board games at Upcider. Whether you've been playing for years or just want to try something new, all are welcome. **Event Details:** * **Date:** Every Saturday * **Time:** Start at 6:00 PM. End time is open-ended. * **Location:** Upcider (1160 Polk St, 2nd floor) **What to Expect:** * We play whatever board games members bring. Recent games have included Avalon, Bang, Codenames, Exploding Kittens. You're encouraged to bring any games you'd like to share :) * We also have a WhatsApp group for coordination. Ask an existing member during the event to be added to the group. Look forward to some relaxed game time with everyone.

Ancient Games

We will meet up at The Game Parlour and play Manancala, Senet, Bao, and other simple-to-learn, but engaging to play ancient games. Cost covers admission to The Game Parlour and table reservation fee. Food and drink are available for purchase at location.
